Ciao Bella (which translates to "hello, beautiful") is a reminder that Italian food can be much more than lasagna, ravioli and spaghetti. "The Mediterranean diet is one of the best in the world". "Just good, authentic food made with love and passion. Pair with a beautiful wine and it's wonderful".

"Ciao Bella is one of my favorite places. It's cozy and somewhat casual, but also very exacting regarding food preparation. The bruschetta is the best I've had and the fried green olives - yum! The pizzas are inventive and the pastas have a light touch. What I especially like is spontaneously dropping by for a fine meal at a reasonable price rather than settling for fast food at a cheap price."

"Maggiano's is always dependably good, but for my latest visit, it was great. There are two new prixe fix options, both of which incorporate the "take a classic pasta home" along with your leftovers. in this instance, I had sirloin with peppercorn sauce and took home ravioli in pesto alfredo. Our shared appetizer was salad caprese and shared dessert was apple crostada. Everything was really good. Our service was fantastic too."

With rustic exposed brick walls, re-purposed farm wood and communal tables, Davanti Enoteca takes its cues from the small villages of Italy. Diners enjoy authentic Italian dishes they would find in the Italian countryside, but with a contemporary, creative twist. The start diners may choose from the selection of formaggi and salumi which is designed for guests to create their own boards by choosing from unique options. Instant classics include the boards that are presented to the table. The Foccacia de Recco is a flaky Ligurian style foccacia, baked and stuffed with creamy melted crescenza cheese and served with honeycomb to spread on the warm pastry. Buttery marscapone polenta is ladled on a wooden board and served with ragu of the day.

"Davanti Enoteca is a wonderful find in an area - Taylor Street - that already offers a multitude of fantastic Italian restaurants. The food is served family style, which makes it more fun to devour. The restaurant had me hooked at "Ragu of the Day"!"

South Water Kitchen, adjacent to Chicago's hip Hotel Monaco, is a neighborhood restaurant offering American Home cooking. As a tribute to the kitchen table, South Water Kitchen remembers the time when the kitchen was the center of the home and the family meal was the most important time of the day.

One of the best restaurants in Chicago, in the heart of the Mag Mile. Nestled at the base of the legendary Tribune Tower, this stunning restaurant is a vibrant addition to one of Chicago’s most beloved and recognizable skyscrapers. Incorporating signature Tribune elements into our design, such as the etched travertine that came over from Italy, Howells & Hood pays homage to John Howells & Raymond Hood, architects of the Neo Gothic landmark. With a unique and refined culinary program, the largest draft beer selection in Chicago, and impressive staff, Howells & Hood is a magnificent compliment to Michigan Avenue.

Please note, we do not accept reservations for our patio tables. We will do our best to accommodate outdoor seating requests upon arrival. We look forward to serving you!

"Nothing about my dining experience on a Sunday afternoon in March prepared me for the experience of dining at Howells & Hood on a Thursday night in May! I arrived early to welcome my party of 10, and within 15 minutes, at least 100 people passed through. When we entered, we were met by a wall of sound. We persevered, enjoyed our drinks and our food, and had an enjoyable evening. The good service really helped make the experience an enjoyable (if LOUD) experience."

Francesca's on Taylor features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. Chicago Magazine notes, "It brings a new kind of abbondanza to an old Italian neighborhood." It is the fourth restaurant opened by Chef Scott Harris, whose philosophy is to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, good, rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices. Anne Spiselman of Crain's Chicago Business observes: "A rolled-mesh ceiling, warm woods and geometric light fixtures give the room a rather clubby look, brightened during the day by light coming through the windows facing the street. And, Francesca's on Taylor takes reservations. "No, it does more; it honors reservations. Twice I made reservations, twice I walked into a packed dining room, and twice I was seated within 10 minutes," notes respected Chicago Tribune food critic Phil Vettel who claims this to be his favorite Francesca restaurant.
