Legal Oysteria is a casual neighborhood restaurant serving coastal Italian-style seafood. Executive Chef Rich Vellante developed a menu based on the food he cooks at home for family and friends.

Legal Oysteria’s menu showcases the freshness and purity of its seafood offerings and other ingredients. Preparations are simple and authentic. A brick oven (with pizza oven and rotisserie) informs the menu. There are options for those who choose to table share or prefer more traditional coursed dining. Our bar program was designed to complement the cuisine. The all Mediterranean wine list is heavily focused on Italy and Spain and the cocktail program highlights the beautiful wine, vermouth, chinato and amaro of Italy and beyond.

By tradition, an osteria is casual, comfortable and accessible and Legal Oysteria aspires to afford that same experience.

"We thought it had to be a great: we are huge Legal seafood fans.We love Italian Osteria restaurants. They could benefit from becoming either more like a standard Legal Seafoods restaurant, or more like an Italian bistro. It is neither. The service was indifferent, in stark contrast to the usual high standard at Legal. The food was odd at best. I had the silk handkerchiefs--which was basically pasta in a green souplike substance. The appearance was to say the least off putting. It actually tasted fine. We ordered the ricotta fritters, which were slightly overdone. The crostini were quite good. The bread was dry and served sliced, on a plate. The artichoke lasagne was so-so, and a bit small. If it succeeds it will be due to a great location."

Giulia is a chef-owned Italian restaurant located between Harvard and Porter Squares in Cambridge. This is the first restaurant of award-winning Chef Michael Pagliarini. Our focus is on inspired food and great service with true Italian vigor. We put a particular focus on our hand-crafted pastas, made each day on our custom-built chef"s table adjacent to the open kitchen.

"I hate to review this place because more people will know how great it is. This is possibly the best restaurant in the Greater Boston area. It's small, located on Mass ave in Cambridge, and unpretentious. Everything on the menu is outstanding. If you wind up sitting at the bar, you are served by a relaxed but on top of it bartender (unlike some upscale places that just cannot be bothered with providing excellent food service at the bar). Everyone on the staff is into making your experience exceptional. We have been there many times, and never experienced anything less than superb--food, wine, service, atmosphere."

Unwind, Italian-style, at Rialto, where James Beard Award-winning chef Jody Adams brings an Italian perspective to New England ingredients. Menu changes monthly to reflect the best in seasonal ingredients and highlight different regional cuisine of Italy. Current menu offerings include Roasted Asparagus with fried pecorino cheese, chestnut honey, and sherry vinegar; Potato Gnocchi with chanterelles, peas, mint, hazelnuts, and goat cheese; Maine Lamb Chop and Roasted Leg with minted ricotta ravioli, spring vegetable stew, nuts, and honey; and Maple-Pecan Profiteroles with maple-espresso glaze, chocolate sauce, salted pecans, and maple ice cream.

The Boston Globe awarded Rialto a coveted four stars in three consecutive reviews and Gourmet Magazine named it one of the "World's Top Hotel Restaurants." Visit www.rialto-restaurant.com to learn more about private and special events, cooking classes and new menu offerings.

"Located in the Charles Hotel, this restaurant is for special occasions. It was a bit more expensive than we usually go for, but worth every penny. We might go here more often if we were in a higher income bracket. The service was extremely good without a hint of snobbery, and the food was divine. It is clearly the go-to place for the well-heeled in Cambridge."

Welcome to Devlin's Restaurant, where we've got a little bit of downtown uptown. We serve great cuisine that's both innovative and traditional in Brighton Center Mass.
Delicious seafood and meat dishes, pastas, salads, sandwiches, homemade desserts and an extensive wine and specialty drink list are why people keep coming back to Devlin's. All of this combined with a pleasant chic environment and friendly helpful wait staff makes Devlin's the perfect place for business, social, and family dining.

"I went out of my way to get to Devlins, and felt like an interloper. Clearly it is the neighborhood bar/restaurant. I did not find it special at all, even though the service was quite good. The food seemed absolutely like every other neighborhood sort of Irish bar/restaurant in the greater Boston area. Fine if you are in Brighton, but not worth any extra effort."

Central Kitchen is located right in the heart of Central Square in Cambridge. We serve our delicious rustic Mediterranean fare seven nights a week. Think Paris, Tuscany and Barcelona with a raw bar and a wonderful wine list.

"Central Kitchen is a cut above the surrounding restaurant scene. Quite clearly the chef is creative and conscientious. The servers are knowledgeable and dedicated to doing things right. The setting is hip and energetic, but not the sort of quiet place you might want for a super romantic meal. We have been there several times and find the combination of the scene, the great food and interesting service to be worthwhile. You really should book a reservation as it fills up and by 9 or so the line to get in to the bar is out the door and down the block."

Gordon and Fiona Hamersley have owned one of Boston's most popular restaurants for 20 years. Hamersley's Bistro serves contemporary, full-flavored French/Mediterranean food in a relaxed environment. Located in the fashionable South End, Hamersley's is adjacent to the Boston Center for the Arts and its' affiliated theaters and galleries. The historic brick building, which originally housed a piano factory, has been transformed into one of Boston's most comfortable dining atmospheres. The dining room has butter yellow walls, exposed beams and a view of the open kitchen so diners can watch the chefs work in their brightly colored baseball caps. There is also a cozy bar, where neighborhood regulars gather for food and drinks, as well as a large patio for casual summer dining.

"Hamersley's is the kind of place that takes and then honors reservations. You are treated like an honored guest. They understand you probably are on your way to somewhere, most likely the theater. The service is prompt without seeming rushed. The interior is glowing and lovely. The other patrons are all well dressed and also with friends, ready for a night out. the food is superb. All in all, one of the best in the area."

"Located in an historic old house in the center of Harvard Square, this place exceeds expectations. The food is very good, and the service is attentive but not overbearing. We were in a room of our own (for five) upstairs, and we happened to be next to a room with a very loud group of people, which was less than optimal. Most of us enjoyed our food, which was good but not exceptional. The overall experience is very good, especially in an area where most restaurants aim at students who want cheap food and abundant beer. This is better than that, but not snobbish at all."

Welcome to La Tagliatella Clarendon. We are a European-based Italian restaurant specializing in the rustic culinary traditions of Northern Italy. We import many of our key ingredients: tomatoes from Puglia; parmesan cheese from Emilia Romagna; gorgonzola cheese from Lombardia; buffalo's mozzarella from Campania; mushrooms from Trentino's region and focacia from Genova...We offer insalate, antipasti, our very own proprietary pastas and sauces; Napoletano-style pizze and several veal or filet mignon entrees. And don't pass on our desserts - they are truly unique and delicious. We have designed our restaurant with a beautiful full service bar for diners to enjoy Happy Hour, bar dining and socializing while enjoying one of our Specialty Cocktails, great wine or draft beer.

"we went here for lunch, and were almost the only customers. I think that was because it was late July, and pretty much no one is working at that time of year in DC. The staff was attentive, but then forgot us as often happens in an empty restaurant. They worked hard to make up for it, and the food was decent. I think this might be a lovely place for dinner."

When diners enter this stylish restaurant in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay – steps away from the South End & Theater District – they are immediately enveloped in earth tones, rich dark wood and the airiness of high ceilings reverberating with the energy and excitement of the space. The lively bar area is a popular gathering spot offering a selection of cocktails, sake, wine and beer. Guests look on as the team of chefs create cutting-edge sushi dishes, or they settle into an experience of award-winning cuisine in the main dining area. From the knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff to charismatic owner Jack Huang’s pleasure at meeting diners, expect the comfort of being warmly welcomed at Douzo. Like the atmosphere, Douzo’s healthy and fresh cuisine seamlessly combines warm tradition and modern innovation of Japanese classics. Douzo offers inventive dishes that make the restaurant both a neighborhood fixture and a critically acclaimed destination, signature items.

"Great location, great sushi, vibrant scene. This place has an awesome location, but rises to the occasion with a beautiful interior, fantastic food, and fine service. We were there on a busy weekday lunchtime. No problem. One had the sense that it was easy for them to pull out excellence in every category. I would not hesitate to have an important business lunch here, or a romantic getaway, or just a good meal with friends."

"Well, this is the place where the contemporary Boston Brahmins go. We were there on Mother's Day, and it was NOT overbooked, even though nearly every restaurant makes that mistake on Mother's Day. Instead, we were seated promptly, served carefully, and provided everything we could want. It was pricey, but worth it. Everyone there was clearly "well heeled" and that was a bit intimidating. But the waiter was gracious and not at all a snob. This is a place I will go to only on very special occasions, but worth every penny."
