Grigio's Reviews

Distinctive. Delightful. Designed by renowned architect David Rockwell and the talented Rockwell Group, the restaurant highlights many of the original features including the landmarked ceiling and is set in a landscape of bold hues of black, silver, brown, cream and gold which intermingle with rich textures to create a lush, warm environment. The modern décor beautifully complements the newly restored St. Regis. Decanter features Mediterranean cuisine, inspired by Executive Chef Sébastien Rondier’s childhood and culinary beginnings in in France’s Basque country as well as the French Rivera. Masterfully utilizing the freshest seasonal ingredients from the best local suppliers, Chef Rondier has created culinary offerings which feature elegant cuisine in a playful manner complimented by a diverse wine collection. The menu features delectable dishes and flavors from the South of France, Spain, Turkey, and Italy.

"Went to dinner to celebrate a birthday, and chose Decanter based on Open Table reviews. The reviews were spot on - this is a gorgeous restaurant, and the food was devine. I had the braised lamb dish which was delicious, and served with lamb sausages - just delicious. There were only one or two other tables filled in the dining room - where was everyone? This is beautiful setting, very elegant, and quiet - and it was great to be able to speak to each other and easily hear the conversation. Quite a notable - albeit quite expensive - wine list. A beautiful place; we'll be back- great for special occasions, feeling elegant, and hearing each other talk!"

"We went for dinner Saturday night of Restaurant Week, and ordered off the special Restaurant Week menu. My fish was absolutely delicious, really, just excellent, as was the starter salad, served with carmelized popcorn - a delgihtful combo. Fanastic desserts, as well. My only comment was that the portions were pretty small - and I usually never finish a regular entree since they're usually too large - but perhaps because it was Restaurant Week, the portion sizes were cut down. Or perhaps because that fish entree was so delicious, I could've - and would've - eaten more! Liked viewing the hopping bar scene (a Saturday night), and the lofty enterior is quite welcome, especially on a cold winter evening."
