DAS Ethiopian offers you a cozy two story setting, with rare outside dining views and al fresco patio dining in season. DAS is located at the eclectically brilliant historic corner of the internationally renowned shopping district of Georgetown. A tent under which all come to feast is the very Amharic definition of DAS, and that is what you will enjoy here. From neighborhood diners, nearby students, journalists, to international visitors and performers, all enjoy the casual but refined atmosphere that serves up the freshest Ethiopian dishes from local and sustainable food sources. Let us know of your dining plans now so we may accommodate any extra needs or private dining desires you may have. We look forward to serving you again and again!

"This was my 2nd trip to Das. (first when it was Zed's) and I had forgotten just how wonderful this quaint place is. Gracious, sincere, attentive and warm service. The food is spectacular. A friend and I shared the vegetable and meat sampler platter, which was ample. We had the tomatoes too. Enjara was warm and fresh and more arrived just before needed. I love this place. If only it weren't in difficult to get to Georgetown. This place is fantastic!"

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"A pleasant stroll from the Dupont Circle Metro took us to this quaint place. We were seated then promptly greeted by an attentive and extremely knowledgable waiter. We started with the Brut bubbly, which was prosecco-like. We shared the mushroom tarte appetiser and it was divine! Don't skip this. I was so excited and switched my first choice, skate, as the main course to the waiter's recommendation, the Saturday short ribs. It was nicely prepared but the meat was a bit fatty, as ribs tend to be. I should have known better. We ordered the carafe of house red which was nice and low priced. I ended, stuffed, with the best creme brulee of my life. Really enjoyed this place! Can't wait to go back for the skate!"
