"We took our daughter out for a birthday dinner while visiting KC. This was close to our hotel and had good reviews. I signed up on OpenTable and mentioned my daughter's birthday in the "special occasion" box.
When we were seated, the table had been covered with metallic Happy Birthday decorations, and the menus had "Happy Birthday" written at the top.
The staff and management checked on us frequently, provided her birthday desert, and made us all say we definitely would like to return.
The steaks are expensive, but were delicious. The sides were unique and huge portions. The decoration and ambience are worthy of an elite level restaurant. There was jazz music always playing. It was loud enough to hear clearly, but not so loud that we couldn't talk.
Well done, 801 Chophouse!
