Del Frisco's Grille uses local ingredients alongside new classics that are easy to share with friends: Wood Oven-Baked Flatbreads, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, and Ahi Tacos. The menu also includes a selection of prime steaks, hearty salads, formidable sandwiches and chef-inspired entrees. "I have dined at DFG many times for lunch & dinner but have to report that brunch was just not great. Chicken fried steak was dry & room temperature. Ham & cheese sandwich was tasteless & served with a salad which seemed a disconnect for brunch (fruit bowl would have been better). We were entertaining another couple so didn't say anything & they finished the eggs benedict & pork burrito completely so it must have been better than ours."

"Bird Cafe has become "the" destination for diners before going to Bass Hall. It's only 1 block away & valet parking makes it very convenient. Food is different so check out the menu first. I recommend the traditional Belgian mussels but frittes are a side order you can skip because they're just not crispy & more suitable as french fries for the burger or steak. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the menu & wine list. Check out the wines by the glass for great finds!"

"This was my 6th visit & again worth every bite! My friend devoured the Momma's Cabbage Salad. My artichoke flatbread was a little soggy this time. I will be back to keep working my way through every bite on the menu."

"I have dined at DFG many times for girlfriend lunches & couples dinner but this was the first time for a business lunch. The noise level at lunch is substantially less than in the evenings as the bar is not active. We were able to spread our paperwork out in a booth upstairs & work while we ate. The steak salad was filling enough for lunch. My lunch partner had a small steak with frites & side salad which he wishes came with rolls or simple bread but was told only pretzel bread was available. Many ice tea refills later we had accomplished our goal & left full & satisfied."

Located just a few minutes from downtown in architecturally rich Monte Vista, La Fonda on Main is the oldest Mexican food restaurant in San Antonio. La Fonda serves both the best of Tex-Mex cuisine as well as authentic dishes of interior Mexico in a fun and casual setting with beautiful patio dining. Open daily serving lunch and dinner as well as a memorable Sunday brunch menu, we offer a full bar with a wide variety of liquor, beer and wine. Our famous margaritas are made with hand-squeezed limes and your choice of a large selection of tequilas.

"A friend recommended that any visit to San Antonio include a meal at La Fonda because it its where the locals go for their Tex-Mex. Requests made through Open Table were accommodated; round table as we were a party of 6, not in the center of the noisy part of the restaurant so we could easily visit & 3 separate bills. The server was a little pushy with wanting our drink orders as soon as we were seated before we had even seen the menu (maybe locals already know the drink menu) or were served ice water & tortilla chips/salsa & also disappeared for extended periods during our meal. The food was good, served hot, big portions. Would enjoy sitting on the lovely patio on another visit."
