Located in the heart of the nightlife hub of New York City, the Meatpacking District, The Chester is an American restaurant, bar and private event space. Nestled in The Gansevoort Hotel Meatpacking NYC, The Chester is designed to bring guests together any time of day with breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and late-night bites menus. Serving inspired traditional American food, which includes a great selection of dishes to share and handcrafted cocktails, it is perfect for group dining and social gatherings. With a vibrant bar scene and a lively dining area, as well as an exclusive boutique nightclub and outdoor biergarten, The Chester pops against Meatpacking’s busy background.

David Burke Kitchen pays homage to the craft of cooking and sharing hearty, rustic American food. Its artisan menu items are inspired by morning visits to the green market and what is freshest in the region, prepared with creativity and refined technique. The result is a dining experience that is truly of-the-moment, authentic and regional. "Food here is always very good, but service can can vary. This trip the service was spot on. And in the end I wasn't frantically looking around for my server to try to get the check-- which is typical there. She was on it."

"I eat here quite frequently, though usually lunch. Similar items on the dinner menu. Appetizer was so so; main dishes we quite good. Service was good for about 3/4 of the experience.. and then, pretty typical for this place, it's like you've fallen off the grid. Trying to get another cup of coffee or the check feels impossible. You are basically chasing your waiter. And then the coat check person was totally confused. Both of us ended up going in the back room to physically claim our coats, despite the fact that we had tags. Not a huge deal, but frustrating when you're trying to get out of there."

"Food always delicious here which is a big reason I keep going back. But service is inconsistent -- getting orders wrong and them forgetting we are there. It's as if they try not to like at you in case you need something ..., like your check. Front of house needs work."
