We are proud to announce...

Chef Tyson Cole, winner of the 2011 James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef Southwest--Thank you Uchi and Uchiko family and friends for your support!

Uchiko, translated as "child of Uchi" from Japanese, is the next restaurant venture for renowned executive chef and sushi master Tyson Cole. Located in central Austin, this second location of Cole’s highly-praised Uchi presents the same excellence and energetic atmosphere of the original with some noteworthy additions. Uchiko will feature a new menu with Uchi’s same style of innovative, fresh cuisine, a main dining room that accepts reservations throughout the evening and an eat-in bar/café area.
"To be fair: we spent a lot of money. A group of 4 and we spend about $120 per person. This included the omakase of about 10+ dishes, 3 desserts, 3 - 4 carafes of hot sake and about 2 beers each. Pretty good price IMO.
The food was flat out incredible. Some of the best food I've EVER had. Matches up with NYC sushi spots. And the service was even better. I forget the servers name but he created an incredibly friendly environment, had a conversation with us to get a feel for what we liked and just started bringing out the heat.
If I come back to Austin I am 100% going to this restaurant again. It is very rare that I go to the same restaurant twice."
