Monique and Georges owned Chez Georges restaurant in Kirkwood and Westheimer for 13 years. They opened Bistro Provence in 1998, and in 2002 they turned it over to their son Jean-Philippe and his wife Genevieve. Afterwards, they opened 7 more restaurants including Bistro Don Camillo, Café la Brocante, and Bistro des Arts.<br /><br />Chef Georges first opened Chez Georges at this location in 2005. After a short break from the business, he decided to return and reopen as Georges Bistro and feature very traditional cuisine from the French countryside. His menu options include escargot, pâtés, foie gras médallions, andouillette, quenelle, magret de canard, rabbit stew, baba au rhum, and crèpes suzette.<br />

"All the items we tried were excellent with a lot of depth in flavor. It was nice to see some unusual items not seen in other French restaurants such as a tasty fish quenelle. There was a very large wine list to select from. The atmosphere is nice in a traditional way for a European feel. The service was excellent and very friendly. We are definitely looking forward to returning here very often."

Innovative American with French Techniques. The menu at Aura Brasserie offers plenty for those who aren't too adventurous with their dining preferences as well as numerous options for those who may enjoy dining more 'outside the box'! Additionally, the Specials each day/night offer more delicious fun...often featuring more than American or French fare. Chef Perrier loves food, loves to cook and loves to 'play' outside the box. The truly adventurous can Reserve in Advance for Chef's 5-Course Tasting Menu (with or without pairings). Many 'regulars' aren't even offered menus as "Tasting Menu Only" is known by all staff as their dining preference!

"This was my first visit to Aura. It is a nice place but the food was somewhat disappointing. We had an expensive 69.95 3 course Christmas Eve menu. Some of the dishes were very good but my main course of lamb chops was disappointing because the lamb was chewy in many parts and not so well seasoned. The appetizers were interesting but the main courses seemed to rely mostly on black pepper for the seasoning. The mac and cheese side dish was extremely bland without much flavor. Perhaps because this is located in Town Center in the Sugar Land suburbs there is a lower standard compared to the other great French restaurants in town more centrally located. We did have a good bottle of red wine at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is nice but try to sit further back away from the front door that blows in cold air every time the door is opened."

"We visited the restaurant for the first time. We had their brunch menu and were able to sit outside in their nice patio. The food was very good with some interesting changes to some traditional brunch items as well as more unusual items such as their very tasty version of a Cuban sandwich. The place had a very nice and modern feel without being too obnoxiously loud as some places are. It is part of a hip looking hotel. We enjoyed it very much and plan to go back in the future and are looking forward to trying dinner or a normal lunch."

"This was a very nice restaurant with good food located in an out of the way location. The interior is nice especially the front room. All the dishes we had were tasty and were traditional with hints of French influence. We had a nice bottle of affordably priced French wine. We plan to return."
