"We enjoyed a simple lunch at Nippers: a burger for my husband and the guava grilled cheese for me. Both sandwiches were very good, although my husband (a meat & potatoes guy) didn't love the seasoning on his burger. My sandwich was packed with 3 cheeses and sweet guava paste on thick sourdough bread. Accompanying fries (regular for him, sweet potato for me) were hot and crisp. It's great to sit out on the patio, but apparently it was spring break and there were a lot of families with little kids running around. I love kids, but not when they're screaming right behind my head and bumping into my chair as I'm sipping my drink. Not the fault of the restaurant. Next time I'd just choose an indoor table instead. Same view, no sandbox."

"I was leaving DC forever, and chose Acadiana as the last restaurant I'd dine at the night before my move. The charbroiled oysters are my favorite oysters anywhere in the world. Grillades and grits outshine anything I've had in New Orleans. Blacked redfish over fettuccini - spectacular. (I made the hubby get my secobd favorite so I could have a last bite.) wish I'd been able to order the crispy duck and the barbecue shrimp, too. If it had been lunchtime I'd have said farewell with the Cochon de lait po'Boy. Oh, Acadiana I will miss you more than I will miss so e of the people I've known in Washington."

Béarnaise transports the flavors of Paris to Capitol Hill. Located at 3rd and Pennsylvania Avenues Southeast, Béarnaise serves bistro fare in a humble, but chic, atmosphere. Inspired by their childhood memories in Montreal and Paris, Chef Spike Mendelsohn and his sister, Micheline Luhn, opened the bistro modeling their prix fixe menu after the famous L'Entrecôte St-Jean. In the lively dining room, guests dine on steak frites in leather booths surrounded by antique mirrors and vibrant artwork from Parisian galleries. Pair your meal with a bottle of wine and indulge in decadent desserts to make any meal feel like an escape to France.

"No longer just steak & frites, you now have options like duck confit, chicken and pork. Oh, and mussels. Big bowls of steaming mussels. Go spend an evening in Paris (or Montreal, I think is the inspiration) without leaving DC."

"We thought Nippers would be a typical waterside bar/restaurant but were blown away by the white-tablecloth quality of the food. Fabulous baked oysters, perfectly prepared swordfish and delicious bacon wrapped shrimp that came with a corn riotto and some damn fine collard greens. We would have tried dessert but the waitress kind of tossed the check at us. We figured she wanted to go home so we paid up and left."

Located in the heart of Neptune Beach, Chef & Owner Ben Groshell has once again outdone himself with the newest edition to his restaurant family: North Beach Fish Camp. Following in the success of Ponte Vedra Beach's Palm Valley Fish Camp, the NB Fish Camp will delight diners with fresh creative Southern fare, fresh seafood, and sought after bread pudding. This location adds a bonus of a roof top bar with extended weekend hours. If you like PVFC you will love the new NBFC!

"Everything about the menu and the service was top notch, but I left off a star because of the noise level (this is a category 2 steps beyond Open Table's "energetic.") All day soup - delicious. Fried chicken - awesome. Steak succulent and perfectly prepared to order. My husband ate his key lime pie so quickly I didn't snag a bite. A waiter (manager, maybe) stopped by to ask if we'd had dessert. He gave us a chocolate stout pudding to try. If that dessert remains on the menu you need to order it. It's like chocolate pudding for grown-ups. Our waiter Chris was great - helpful and efficient. This restaurant definitely goes on our regular rotation, but I'll be asking for an outside table."

"Roy's consistently provides high quality and creativity. Crispy Thai style calamari is my new go-to appetizer - perfectly balanced with sweet, sour, spicy, tangy - it raises the bar. Wagyu beef gyoza were devoured. Pork tenderloin was succulent, but was outshone by its companions- sweet potato gnocchi and Brussels sprouts. Short ribs - always amazing. Mani mahi was flawless and fresh. Service was warm and professional. We lacked for nothing."
