221 is set in a tastefully refurbished historic home nestled in the trees on South Oak Street, just steps from the Gondola. For years, 221 South Oak has been renowned for its intimate atmosphere, incredible food, extensive wine list, friendly service and uncompromising quality.
Chef/Owner Eliza serves cuisine
classified as Modern Bistro with an eclectic blend of flavors and styles.
A mélange of seafood, game and beef, with accompaniments that range from
Deep South to Calypso to Classical French to Californian Cuisine
to Creole—we call it Eliza’s cooking.
Come enjoy bloodies, benedicts and beignets for brunch every Sunday from 10am-1pm.

"We had a wonderful meal at 221. I am a vegan, and they fortunately have a vegetarian/vegan menu.
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful meal in Telluride.

Gertrude’s, the much-anticipated restaurant at the Desert Botanical Garden, offers a fresh new food experience focusing on ingredients directly from the farm and pasture to the plate.

"We ate at Gertrudes on Saturday night 5/10/14. The Chihuly exhibit was in full swing and the gardens were extremely crowded. The restaurant, however, had empty tables. Despite empty tables, the service was extremely slow. We ordered wine and it took at least 20 minutes to get to us. I could see the carafes sitting at the bar, but the waiter was overwhelmed. The food was mediocre. I ordered the risotto. It was bland and mushy. My salad was good and my fiance's fish tacos looked and tasted okay, but nothing special. I had heard that the food was excellent, but I was frankly disappointed."
