Coalition Restaurant combines an inspired menu with a casually sophisticated setting in a historic downtown Excelsior main street building. The menu takes its inspiration from classic American dishes like beef, lamb, pork and walleye, creatively prepared, vibrantly presented, and influenced by cuisines around the world reflecting the global, sophisticated, expanded palates of today.

"New restaurant in quaint town of Excelsior featuring diverse menu influenced by global cuisines and featuring local ingredients! Have visited for both lunch (quieter) and dinner (lively and packed)! Favorite appetizers are pulled pork buns and steamed mussels, while the Brussels sprouts and barbequed carrots (with white miso) are delicious sides. Good range of offerings for lunch including salads, sandwiches and entrees; my favorite dinner was salmon - perfectly prepared and delicious! A bit more emphasis on improving service will enhance the overall dining experience (i.e. familiarity with menu items, timing, etc.). The bar offers tasty cocktails - highly recommend the Minnetonka Mule and the Dark & Stormy. Enjoy!"

With the successful move of Tocqueville, owners Marco Moreira and Jo-Ann Makovitzky set about re-inventing the restaurant's original space with the help of acclaimed architect Richard Bloch. Reborn as 15 East, the restaurant serves contemporary Japanese cuisine and traditional sushi in an elegant, comfortable setting. Online reservations are for the dining room only. For reservations at the sushi bar please call the restaurant directly.

"A small, intimate space with excellent service! We ordered the Smoked Kurobuta appetizer which was tasty, but the Ten Piece Sushi Omakase was absolutely sublime! You can customize the pieces with your own preferences and ours came with a special sushi featuring shiso-wrapped clam - scrumptious! This restaurant will be on our short list of places to dine in the future!"

"Enjoyed our dinner at dbBistro Moderne. A nice, sleek contemporary space with modern furnishings. The service was fine and the food was good...we had the Veal Agnolotti (they resembled pot stickers and the kale was delicious) and the Pork Risotto (rich flavors and risotto was cooked perfectly). Also enjoyed the Café Brulot for dessert along with a complimentary trio of mini-desserts...all in all a nice experience."
