The tradition of the South. The sophistication of California cuisine. Vibrant, cosmopolitan energy. Picán is 'Southern...Unleashed!' Full service bar/lounge with hand-crafted cocktails, Southern "twists" and classic standards. The most comprehensive Bourbon portfolio in the Bay Area; a thoughtful selection of wines. An open kitchen serves as focal point in the casually elegant dining room.

Unique Southern flavors: Signature Southern Fried Chicken, Catfish Nantua and VooDoo Shrimp & Grits. Seasonal produce and sustainably sourced meats and seafood. "Ultimate Southern Social Hour." Lunch Favorites: Flavorful salads, Southern Sammies including NOLA Brisket Burger! Brunch Favorites: Beignets, Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict and Bourbon Bloody Mary.

Private, luxurious dining rooms: The Bourbon Room seating up to 28 and Vieux Carré seating 40. Named "Best Overall Oakland Restaurant 2012" by Oakland Magazine.
"Other than our waiter telling us his first name, which seems both ridiculous and tacky, the experience was good. All the rest of the staff were gracious and helpful. Food - good and not so good, but never bad. Fried chicken moist and tender, if a little under seasoned, 2 large pieces; mac'n'cheese yummy, if a little over the top rich; jambalaya with arborio rice was an unfortunate miss- runny and watery to the point of being off-putting; ribs and beans excellent;brisket collard greens were so good i felt guilty eating vegetables; corn bread good but a little overbaked - too dry; mud pie and bread pudding desserts both delicious, without being too much to eat. We live in the neighborhood, and are happy to see a place like Pican prosper."
