"Went for brunch this past Sunday, group of 4. Contrary to other reviews I've seen, the service was great. Corinna (Carina?), our server, was pleasant, knowledgeable, and quite "present." Water was refilled promptly throughout the meal.
Pros: Tasty and interesting small plates. Biscuits with honey butter and preserves were good, bacon was awesome, and the special fig tart and lobster ravioli were awesome. Egg sandwich on brioche was MASSIVE. Great home fried potatoes (spicy though!).
Cons: Music was quite loud for a Sunday afternoon and of weirdly varying genres. It's expensive. We live and dine in LA and still were surprised by the prices, for a brunch. Considering you really need to order multiple small plates, it adds up quickly. And with no lower-range bubbly bottle ($56 for a prosecco), drinks can put it over the top. We had one bottle and a few other cocktails, plus a good amount of food, and the bill was $260. For brunch, that's a bit much, imo.
All in all, the vibe, service, and food are great. Just bring your fat wallet or working plastic."

Cavatina- a musical term describing an unembellished melody, beautiful in it's simplicity
Award winning Chef/Restaurateur Michael Schlow, is proud to introduce Cavatina, a new, exciting restaurant serving lunch and dinner at the fabled Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood.
A long time fan and guest of Sunset Marquis, this marks Michael’s first L.A. restaurant and he’s teamed up with Executive Chef Roger Eggleston to present dishes at Cavatina that showcase their unique cooking styles and bold approach to food.
Cavatina boasts an impressive wine list and the restaurant's setting and service embodies Sunset Marquis’ casual and relaxed vibe.
The menu, broken into 4 Categories (Snacks, Crudo, Small Plates, Entrees) offers guests incredible flexibility and gives the chefs the perfect platform to present the beautiful local products available to them.
"This was our second Christmas (in addition to one Thanksgiving and two birthdays) at Cavatina. Although they do serve a limited prix fixe menu on the holidays, the selections are always fantastic. The short ribs were to die for!
And Angel always takes the best care of us!"
