"Always wonder if Michelin stars really make that much of a difference...are these restaurants really THAT much better? Every time the answer is yes. The Spice Route tasting menu was fantastic, from start to finish (including all the "extras"), and the Indian influence made it special. It wasn't overpowering, if you are not a huge fan of traditional Indian cuisine, just "different" enough. Our server Caitlyn (sp? She'd lost her name placard) was possibly one of the best we've ever had; attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable (she didn't just recite ingredients by rote, but actually showed an understanding of the menu items), and gave great wine recommendations. Didn't even need to bring in their Master Sommelier! We WILL go back."

Carlitos Gardel Steakhouse is a family-owned and operated restaurant offering the finest in authentic Argentine cuisine and hospitality since 1996. With an extensive menu of personal family recipes from Buenos Aires, the restaurant serves only certified USDA prime cuts of grass-fed beef and sustainably sourced ingredients prepared the Argentine way. <br /><br />Sommelier Max Bozoghlian directs a multiple award-winning wine program showcasing the largest cellar of Argentine wines on the West Coast and several rare and boutique labels.<br /><br />Named in honor of Carlos Gardel—an iconic cultural figure in Argentine history and the paternal voice of tango—the restaurant was recently highlighted by Irene Virbila of the Los Angeles Times as one of the city’s top steakhouses. Its 1930s-inspired ambiance is a nod to the “Golden Age” of Buenos Aires and has been a favorite of many locals, celebrities, and Argentine visitors for years.<br />

"While the food was better than average, and the wine list expansive with a great Pinot, didn't really feel it met our expectations based on ratings and prior reviews. Server was nice, but we felt rushed at first (asked if we'd decided on our meal selection before taking a drink order) and then virtually ignored at the end. Last round of drinks took so long to get we thought he'd forgotten, but he said they had to "find another bottle." At which point we noticed it was not the same wine we were drinking previously. Not good and left it on the table. When asked if it was different, the waiter said "it's supposed to be..." Not "I'll confirm" or remove it from the bill."

"We had such a great experience last month for my birthday that we went again for my SO's birthday last night. I cannot say enough good things about the changes in this restaurant. It was quite good before, but now it is absolutely spectacular! Our server Greg was appropriately attentive without being rushy/overbearing, and Jesse (manager/beverage manager) went above and beyond pretty much any other restaurant we've ever been to...and we like to eat! Thank you all for making his 40th so stellar, and the Flor Rose Brut was amazing! We'll see you soon!"
