Newport Beach is now home to a new dining concept that delivers elements<br />of California’s wine country to Eastbluff Village Center. This is an exciting new restaurant concept that focuses on bringing seasonal, local and responsible fare to the community. We are ingredient driven, everything is made from scratch, and we use only fresh, seasonal and local ingredients of the highest possible quality. Those ingredients that are not from our garden are sourced from a network of small-scale producers. We believe that sharing emotions with the customer is what cooking is all about. Our kitchen at Provenance unites tradition and modernity and we have a deep respect for our product and our guests. We are going back in time with our own garden, and the experience is just about as local and as natural as you can get...Come in and sample Napa Valley here in Newport Beach!

Established in 1989, Sapori Ristorante - Newport Beach is a culinary experience unique from any other. Owner and chef, Sal Maniaci, has brought his firsthand knowledge of Italian cuisine to Newport Beach. A genuine Mediterranean setting coupled with experienced and knowledgeable waiters add to Sapori's authenticity. The remodeled patio featuring a fireplace and outdoor heaters creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for romantic and warm outdoor dining. Signature dishes include penne otero, farfalle salmone, scalloppine gorgonzola, and several other original pasta and meat dishes. "A lovely birthday evening. The environment was beautiful, eating on the terrace with the fireplace going was a lovely setting. The service was friendly and attentive. The food is typical of southern Italy. If you are looking for innovation or creativity you will not find it here."

Blue Duck Tavern, a contemporary neighborhood restaurant, invites its guests to gather and celebrate in good taste with a menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available from local purveyors and artisans. The menu notes every farm where the main ingredient for the dish was raised before its journey to the table. Dishes are genuine, time-honored and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great, simple and wholesome foods to the Blue Duck Tavern. <br /><br />The restaurant has an elegant residential feel through the open staff pantry and kitchen, wood-burning oven and the showpiece Molteni range.<br /><br />*Please note that for diners bringing in wine, a $35 corkage fee (per 750 ml bottle of wine), with a limit of two bottles, will be charged.

"We had a late dinner and the service was fabulous. We looked at the wine list and there is almost nothing for under $50. We decided to go with a glass of wine instead of a bottle, better to have one good glass than a whole bottle of overpriced less desirable wine. For staters I had the squash salad which was very good. Improvements, I would have liked the squash to be warm not cold. My husband had the soup. Much too salty and a little bland. The bread would also benefit if it was warm. Because we came late it was a little dried out and hard, not very good for someone who loves bread and looks forward to it when I go out for dinner. I think of bread as a treat, I do not serve it at home. For our mains, I ordered the single crab cake and my husband the scallops. The crab cake comes by itself with nothing else so I also ordered the wild mushrooms. The crab cake was perfect however the scallops were a little over cooked,which makes they very chewy and salty. The mushrooms were also over salted. I am finding that more and more restaurants are over salting their food. You should be able to bring out the flavor without having to add so much salt. We did not have dessert. Overall a very satisfying meal, with its hits and misses."

"Nothing to recommend this place except the excellent service. The food was very mediocre and there is really nothing special about the decor. It is a bar. Don't understand the other reviews."
