A Livanos' family creation, Molyvos is the closest you can get to Greece in New York City. Critics agree that Molyvos serves perhaps the finest example of Greek cuisine in New York, and beyond. People from around the world have discovered that Molyvos serves the true foods and wines of Greece, along with a large dose of the country’s warm and lively spirit. Molyvos’ menu is built upon the home-style cooking of Greece using authentic recipes, classical cooking techniques and superior ingredients. The wine list, under the keen direction of Kamal Kouiri, is unique for its depth and breadth of excellent Greek labels and small producers from the Mediterranean whose wine deserves to be enjoyed. Molyvos also boasts a carefully selected Pre and Post-theatre menu that perfectly accompanies an evening of entertainment.

"My wife had the halibut and I had the prix fix 3-course meal which included grilled octopus to start followed by shrimp on skewers and a walnut cake. From a price/value point of view the meal was great. This is quite possibly the best Greek restaurant in NYC."

"The breakfast was good although it's a traditional breakfast on Sunday morning, not a brunch type of menu. If you are looking for brunch items, you probably don't want to dine here on a Sunday morning."

"The fried oysters appetizer special was outstanding! The monkfish and swordfish entrees were good, but not memorable. Also, just seconds after we finished our appetizer, the server brought the entrees–much too fast! We will go back here again but were a bit disappointed from our previous experiences."

"Absolutely delicious food! We had the corn soup, the opakapaka entree special and the apple tart dessert. Dinners like this are usually only experienced in major cities. However, here you get both the Hawaiian experience blended with outstanding cooking, so this eatery should be on everyone's Maui "to dine" list, despite the high prices."

Chef Mark and Judy Ellman have opened a seafood shack, right next door to Mala Ocean Tavern. Honu Seafood and Pizza also sits right on the rocks of the Pacific Ocean, with 50 beers, an organic and eclectic wine list, and an extensive scotch and rum selection. Mark and Judy have created an environment that soothes the savage beasts craving of oysters on the half shell, steamed clams and mussels, Crab Louis salad, a selection of Hawaiian seafood, as well as fish from the West and East Coasts of the US. Honu also features a 900 degree brick-oven turning out artisinal pizzas. Come to Honu, drink a local Micro-brewed beer ,eat some freshly shucked oysters on the half shell, and let your eyes and soul relax into the Pacific. Honu, like Mala, is run by Mark and Judy Ellman and their two daughters Ariana and Michelle. Remember, we always try and practice Aloha. Please come and practice with us.
Aloha.

"Good food, great views! One suggestion: Instead of Mahi Mahi as the lunch fish sandwich of the day, they should offer another fish. There are so many wonderful varieties of Hawaiian fresh fish out there!"

Star Noodle is a small restaurant featuring a creative menu of “Asian Small Plates”: Fresh island products prepared with a focus on the simple and elegant flavors of the various Asian cultures. Specializing in house made Saimin, Ramen, Lahaina Fried Soup and Udon noodles, we maintain a quality and taste that is uniquely our own though with a nod to traditional Asian cuisine.

If you are unable to find your reservation time, we also offer a Call-Ahead waitlist and walk-in seats. "Two favorite appetizer dishes: pork buns and mushrooms. Also, don't miss the donuts with chocolate and butterscotch dipping sauce for dessert."

Mama's Fish House is a converted beach house in a coconut grove on a secluded white sand beach. Inside, hinged windows open to let in the trade winds and Polynesian artifacts and original oil paintings decorate tropical hardwood walls. The rooms are filled with spectacular flower arrangements and tapa print cloths cover the tables. Outdoor dining is equally exciting, and everyone enjoys watching the windsurfers performing offshore.

"My wife and I had a wonderful experience. First, we had a perfect table with a water view. The calamari appetizer was the best we ever had. The onaga was also the best--very, very fresh and delicious. The opakapaka special was great but you must like macadamia nuts as it was covered with those. Also, our server, "Junior," was as good as any server anywhere! So, it was a marvelous way to celebrate my birthday."

"My wife and I both had the salad with ahi tuna, which was very good. We find that Mala, like many other good Maui restaurants, excel equally at lunch as they do for dinner. Best of all they offer much better price/value options at lunch time!"
