Bellanico Restaurant & Wine Bar saves some tables for walk-ins, please call Bellanico directly for large party reservations.
Bellanico is a continuation of Chris Shepherd & Elizabeth Frumusa’s successful restaurant in San Francisco, Aperto in Potrero Hill. Bellanico is a neighborhood restaurant located in the Glenview district of Oakland. The name Bellanico is derived from their daughters’ nicknames, Bella & Nico.
The Bellanico staff take great pride in food, service and wine. Jonathan Luce, Chef, serve rustic Italian cuisine that changes seasonally. They are dedicated to serving the best seasonal, local, sustainable and organic products that they can find.
Bellanico features Pitman Farms Chicken, Prather Ranch Meat, Duroc Pork and only wild caught fish and seafood. It also features a wine bar offering Old World wines with an emphasis on Italian wines. There are more than 25 wines by the glass & 6 different flights of wine.

"It was the birthday of a friend and we gathered to take him out. We were 5. Waiter handled everything including questions in the most agreeable manner. One of our party, a woman with an incurable illness, felt cold and the waiter was even able to bring her a blanket. Food was interesting, portions were generous, lighting just right. Even though it is nearby we had never tried it, though it has a great reputation. We were not disappointed."

"Welcoming host. Gorgeous copper bar. The menu was a range of well selected Austrian specialties and locally available meat, fish and produce. The small or "kleine" portion of trout was plenty large enough for an average appetite and was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. The pork schnitzel was perfectly executed; the side portions of vegetables were cooked exactly right and went well with the meat/fish. We split a salad and enjoyed the fresh bread. Apple strudel is the chef's specialty and he is the only one who ever makes it. Save room but have it neat--without ice cream or anything that would overwhelm this beauty. They charge a $20 corkage. The food is a bargain compared to the wines; nothing under $40."

A modern-classic Asian restaurant, our kitchen focuses on an array of Chinese Regional dishes, Japanese and South-East Asian flavors. We create bold flavors through casual dishes. A full bar serves craft cocktails inspired by Asian ingredients.

"Osmanthus, a sweet smelling flower, is the name of this wonderful spot. Decor is tasteful, restful but has a certain attractive energy. The people who seat and serve are delightful and knowledgeable. The food: brilliantly executed Shanghai/Chinese and Southeast Asian for people who don't think they like that kind of food. Knowing the real deal from extensive travel, I'd say the food at Osmanthus makes a great case for transporting the experience back to what is familiar. While fusion is overused, the ideas of the eastern cultures have achieved greater heights here. Portions are generous and the wine list is chosen for its compatibility with the food. The cocktails are wonderful and have a similar aesthetic. Lovely. Reasonable prices."

"Beginning with the pleasant greeting from the host to the lovely drinks and food, till we paid and left, the experience was a seamless and delightful brunch experience on Fathers Day. The sangria--fabulous and not too sweet--an adult drink. Carnitas, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros: all expertly prepared and muy delicioso. Only caveat is they have a bunch of those communal tables. They're fine for a group but if you don't want one, be sure to tell them ahead of time when you reserve."
