A modern-classic Asian restaurant, our kitchen focuses on an array of Chinese Regional dishes, Japanese and South-East Asian flavors. We create bold flavors through casual dishes. A full bar serves craft cocktails inspired by Asian ingredients.

"The visit to Osmanthus for lunch was every bit as delicious and memorable as our visit last year for dinner--maybe better. There are more things on the menu but each is selected carefully to round out a wonderful meal for diners who want to experience all the kitchen can do. It is a feast. We had 4 dishes which were generous enough to bring home extra for the absent party to enjoy his share. Don't miss the brussels sprouts, eggplant, and at least one noodle dish. We also had salmon with a light curry sauce which was meltingly delicious--could possibly have had more of a spicy kick. Cocktails are interesting and refreshing, there is beer on tap but we opted for a French rose which accompanied our food perfectly. This place hits a home run."

The Market Street Grill serves modern fare in the classic space just inside the historic Hotel Whitcomb. Enter through the Tavern Bar with it's Barbary Coast ambiance, complete with vaulted ceilings, Tiffany Glass, and rich Janesero paneling. Our straightforward cuisine focuses on using the finest farm fresh local products, prepared with a slight Euro-Asian inspired feel. The seasonal menus pair well with approachable yet refined wine list, which features extensive selections that span the globe.

"The Market Street Grill is convenient to 4 fine arts venues: Golden Gate Theater, Orpheum Theater, Davies Symphony Hall, and the Asian Art Museum and is an easy walk to BART. Food is really quite good and prices are definitely on the reasonable side; I think people haven't discovered its value yet. Wine list is adequate and well priced for any dining establishment in San Francisco.. They also have a nice selection of draft beers and a lovely full bar that is old timey elegant and seemed friendly. It is located on the ground floor of a The Whitcomb Hotel. It also has a large fireplace with a welcoming fire burning in it, adjacent to the diners--nice touch in wintertime.
The cons are that the place though old and charming, hasn't had the benefit of a facelift in a while. It could use some freshening up: lose the carpeting or change it to a more contemporary look, update the draperies,"

"This pan Asian restaurant has good food and the portions are generous. The boned trout was fabulous. Really enjoyed the lotus root and mango salad. Surroundings are a step away from the busy Pine Street corridor but it is calm inside with tasteful decor, Asian touches and a range of southeast Asian curries to taste through. Vegan and vegetarian choices are part of the menu, not relegated to some obscure part of the offerings. Nice place. Will go back."

Scott's Seafood Restaurant is a Bay Area tradition in the heart of downtown San Jose. Their American regional cuisine features the freshest seafood and prime dry aged steaks. Enjoy views of San Jose and the surrounding hills of Silicon Valley from the sixth floor. The interior is inviting for all occasions, from casual dining to special occasions, business meetings or your next event.

"Enjoyed our lunch at Scotts before visiting the Quilt Museum. Very broad and interesting offerings for every type of eater. Ample salads, sandwiches, soups, and vegetarian options are available. The lunch offerings are reasonable in price and a draft beer is only $5.50. I'm in. Validated parking in the garage for 3 hours--an extra perk which makes this destination desirable and a bargain. There is a roof garden and the windows inside offer nice views of the downtown. This is one for the permanent go-back-to file."
