"Clients recommended this restaurant when asked their preference. I thought the food was quite well-prepared, tasty, and plentiful. Service was cheerful and efficient. I will repeat. NB: "Ancora" is now "Antinori" and it is directly across Stone Street from its original home and is now located in the Doubletree Hotel"

"I spend two weeks here every summer and visited this restaurant last summer at its former location. This year we did the date night special. Very well prepared food and a lovely bottle of wine were served. Our server, Lauren, was very cheerful and attentive."

La Fonda del Sol translates to “inn of the sun” and was first open from 1960 to the early 1970’s. The visionary “theme” restaurant was hailed as ahead of its time by many critics, with a menu that brought Latin and Spanish cuisine to New York for the first time in a fine dining setting.

Today, 47 years after its inception, La Fonda del Sol provides an unprecedented stage for modern Spanish cuisine in New York. Executive Chef Chris DeLuna reinterprets an expansive selection of dishes from across Spain, with a focus on tapas.

The split-level area consists of a bar room on the ground floor and the main dining room on the upper level, separated by an illuminated glass wall behind the bar. Reservations are accepted for the upstairs, main dining room only. If you have a PROMO CODE, please enter it in the special request box when making your reservation.

"Met a client here again. Was attended by the same server as a couple of months earlier, and she remembered. Sampled different wine and menu items, and was again quite pleased with all."
