In 1984, Rosa Mexicano set a new standard for Mexican cuisine when it first opened on the upper east side of New York City. Playing a leading role in defining what was then a "new" cuisine to American diners, Rosa Mexicano delivers authentic Mexican cooking in an accessible, stylishly festive atmosphere. Rosa Mexicano's menu features a range of award-winning signature dishes, including our Guacamole en Molcajete, in a traditional lava rock mortar. Described by Time Out New York as "green ecstasy in a stone bowl," it is prepared table side and served with house made chips, warm corn tortillas and condiment salsas. Rosa Mexicano is also known for the Frozen Pomegranate Margarita, as well as the stylish and festive ambiance that includes an illuminated water wall.

"What an excellent evening. The food was high quality, super fresh and prepared in the authentic manner of true Mexican flavors. I ordered a Hanger steak perfectly cooked medium that was juicy, and loaded with extra flavor from marinating. On the plate with the steak was simple cheese enchilada that was utterly delicious with a warm cheesy interior and a mild ranchero sauce. Every dish came to us piping hot and beautifully seasoned. We can readily reccomend Rosa's in both National Harbor ."

"The group of the four of us agreed that we would return to The Alehouse Columbia. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their dishes. We split an order of Baked Pretzels which was loaded with garliky butter, salt and herbs. It came with a zingy mustard sauce and was delicious. I had a delicious cheddarburger with beach fries (like the ones made by Thrashers). It was cooked perfectly and was jucy and perfect for me. One of our party had the soba noodles and she said the flavor was just wonderful. The Salmon BLT was tender, juicy and looked and tasted fresh. The dessert menu was the usual offerings and nothing we chose stood out. Mostly it was all very sweet."

Vermilion offers deceptively simple modern American cooking in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria. From Chef William Morris' regional cuisine using local, farm-raised products whenever possible to the warmth of its ambiance and the gracious hospitality its staff brings to the table, Vermilion serves as an ideal location for a casual weekday dinner, a special occasion destination or simply a great gathering place for drinks.

"My first taste impression was the marvelous amuse bouche presented .That single bite of gravlax on toast was an explosion of flavor that perfectly kicked off our meal. The grouper that I ordered was tender and flaky. It was surrounded by pickled vegetable and sauteed baby bock choy in a light broth. The predominant flavor was the brine of the vegetables which when mingled with the broth tasted very good.. The salmon tasted wild caught and was prepared simply and deliciously. We thoroughly enjoyed the lemon poppy seed Ricotta fritters for dessert. The fritters are light airy and delicious paired with grilled peaches, ice cream and lemon sauce. Our bill for two with no alcohol came to an even 100.00 before tip."
