"Iceberg lettuce wedge was fine, not quite as crunchy as I like, however.
Steak-Frites ws good.Carrot cake was fine; not too heavy.
Serivce was satisfactory, but friendly. We had to ask for several items that should have been brought to the table.

La Chaumiere is as close as it gets to dining in a French country inn. Now entering its 37th year, La Chaumiere features traditional dishes like escargots en coquille, boudin blanc, quenelles of pike, cassoulet and Grand Marnier souffle. Chef Patrick's specials reflect a modern approach to seasonal produce, seafood and game with favorites like baked oysters, Dover sole and rabbit. La Chaumiere has won the "100 Best Restaurants" award 29 times since 1978!

"Vichyssoise. REAL vichyssoise. Cold and creamy.
Quenelles. One of the few restaurants to serve quenelles. Heavenly light and smooth with delicious sauce Nantua.
The fruit tarte was perfect. The cream was very light. ( Some pastry chefs make the cream too thick and pasty.)
The coffee was real coffee, full-bodied.

There's a time each year when Rome shimmers with a celebration known as "White Nights." It's an all-night festival of culture and the arts, but most importantly to us, it's a celebration of food and drink! Notti Bianche and Executive Chef Michael Cassady embrace this spirit each day serving seasonal, reasonably priced Italian trattoria fare throughout the day!

One of the finest restaurants in the capital and a recipient of five stars from Forbes Travel Guide, Plume serves as a discreet and elegant backdrop to the artistry of our culinary team. Choose a cozy nook or a table by our inviting fireplace as you savor classic dishes expertly executed with lighter, contemporary finishing touches that appeal to today’s enlightened palates. Plume’s wine list spans more than a dozen nationalities and dates back to a rare 1720 Borges Madeira. Among the more than 50 vintages are those Jefferson himself enjoyed in his time as well as newer wines he might select were he alive today.

"I've enjoyed RIS restaurant for years.
On a recent occasion, a friend complained about his lamb chops being salty. a fellow diner tasted the gentleman's spinach and did find it to be salty. They surmised that the kitchen, in salting the spinach may have salted the lamb. Individual complained to waiter. It seems that waiter and another staff member misunderstood. The lamb was taken back to kitchen, but was returned somewhat overdone. Friend assumed that waiter mightn't have understood that the problem was saltiness.
I have loved the butterscotch dessert at lunch for years. At dinner recently, the butterscotch was toped with a delicious dark chocolate . Unfortunately, the chocolate OVERPOWERS the butterscotch.

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"Excellent food. This time, I had coq au vin, which was perfect. For an appetizer, I had the radish salad. Where do they get so many types of radishes?

"I thought that I was going to the Juniper for Brunch, but it was still breakfast time. Buffet was varied and plentiful. No surprises. Server was very attentive. I think that the other meals show off their culinary skills moreso than breakfast."

"I love Vidalia. The food and presentation are delicious.
The waiter was helpful.
BUT. Evidently a large group had come to the restaurant . I believe there were 16 people seated at several tables. They preempted our service.
After waiting about 1 hour after our appetizers, we registered a complaint about the lack of entree. It would have been helpful if the waiter had notified us in advance of the problem that the kitchen was having in serving the large party. The asst. manager came to attend us. We still had to wait for the food. It was largely tepid, not hot. Later on, the manager, very kindly, offered us compensation for the delay and the coolness of the food. Forgiven!
