Upon entering The Mermaid Oyster Bar, diners feel as though they’ve escaped the city on a beach vacation. Offering delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere, patrons can enjoy a relaxing and leisurely dining experience away from the hustle and bustle of busy New York City streets. Bringing a bite of the beach to the West Village, this casual neighborhood spot combines a laid-back fish shack mentality with a menu that reads like an oyster bar’s greatest hits: an extensive raw bar boasting 16 varieties of oysters daily; clam shack favorites like steamers, roasted mussels and fried oysters; and a variety of simply prepared whole fish and fish sandwiches. The cocktails and beers on tap and the rollicking classic rock-country playlist evoke the nostalgia of summer on every visit.

"We frequent the Mermaids and always have a great meal and fun time. The staff is on it. The UWS Mermaid is closer but sometimes you have to get out of the hood and visit another Mermaid, they are all good. This one is for late night fun. Oysters are so fresh and yummy."

In 1983, Café Luxembourg opened its doors to become the quintessential neighborhood bistro of the Upper West Side. The dining room of this charming 90 seat restaurant glows in the warm light of the Jean Perzel fixtures and antique mirrors.

Located on 70th Street just west of Broadway, Café Luxembourg entertains New Yorkers and celebrities alike. The full service bar is home to many regulars. The lively buzz of the dining room is inviting and intimate. The frequency of dining customers is testament to the sincere efforts by the entire Café Luxembourg staff.

The menu changes seasonally as well as offering daily specials. The classic menu dishes maintain a level of cooking on par with the city’s best restaurants. Café Luxembourg offers beautifully prepared food with professional, yet unpretentious service at reasonable prices.
"Recently had a great burger, yes, burger with a fine glass of Sancerre, sometimes it just doesn't get better than that. The food is consistently good, and the service is always the best. The menu is limited but I am always glad I dined here."
