WestSider's Reviews

Arte Cafe located in a landmark brownstone, features a large outdoor garden with a water fountain. Just steps away from Central Park, Chef Camillo Bassani, formally from the Hasseler Hotel in Rome, presents upscale pan-Italian cuisine with homemade pastas, fresh meats, fish, pizza from a brick-oven and sumptuous desserts. Private rooms are available for all events and budgets.

"We love this place. Built within adjacent brownstones, this place is unique among NYC restaurants. It's large enough to get a table easily, but made up of several rooms so it always feels charming and intimate. They offer a wide array of appetizers, antipasti, salads, pastas, pizzas, fish and meats - many classics, many with added fair. We've been coming back for years."

Described as NYC most romantic restaurant, Bricco offers you a cozy and quixotic atmosphere where traditional Italian cuisine is expertly prepared for your pleasure.

"This is a pleasing, reliable, neighborhood place - moderately priced, so an easy choice in the Columbus Circle area. Appetizers are ordinary, but pizzas and entrees are great, also nice well-priced wines. At lunchtime it's quiet and you really feel the old-world charm of the place. On weekend nights the crowd picks up and the kitchen can be painfully slow (for our most recent dinner our entrees arrived an hour after we ordered). Servers are attentive but the kitchen clearly holds them up. Weeknights might be better."

"This is a new place, much needed in the neighborhood. The room is cozy, rustic and charming. Food Italian-inspired and inventive. Wine selection is excellent, also well priced. The staff is clearly excited about the new venture. Guests at a neighboring table told us they come here often and recommended a few things to try. This place will succeed: at only a month old, reservations are already necessary on the weekend."
