Joseph's Reviews

A farm to table American restaurant with a focus on seafood. Our menus change daily to reflect the best of what the markets have to offer and allows us to feature the work of many local artisans, growers and fishermen. A three course seafood tasting menu is always available. Jeremy and Lisa Sewall created Lineage Restaurant"s concept. We are a married couple with extensive culinary experience and deep New England roots. Located in the heart of Coolidge Corner, Brookline, Massachusetts, the name "Lineage" is based on Jeremy's own. In 1705, when this "Muddy River" hamlet of Boston became incorporated, Samuel Sewall, son of Judge Sewall of Salem Witch Trials fame, lent the community his services as the first Town Clerk and, it is thought, the name of his family's "Brooklin" lands, which lay between the Charles and Muddy Rivers.

"'Tis so very rare when the dining experience far outweighs the expectation. Dining at Lineage was especially memorable. A truly outstanding performance!! We were "over the moon"!!!"

Nestled in the heart of Harvard Square is one of the warmest, most inviting French restaurants in the Greater Boston area. The restaurant prides itself on serving classic French Cuisine with an Alsatian influence. Sandrine's is an unpretentious Bistro with a national reputation for excellence. Shortly after the restaurant opened, Esquire magazine named it "one of the 25 best restaurants in the U.S.".

"The entrance to the restaurant promises an experience that transports one to a streetside bistro outside a classic Metro stop in Paris with all of its Art Nouveau beauty and atmosphere. Except for the entrance and the street, however, there is very little "French" about Sandrine's except for some of the food. Not a French word to be uttered by nary a Frenchman to be met. Despite that disappointment the experience was enjoyable but perhaps not to be repeated. The Restaurant Week dinner price of $38.00 was most welcome."

L'Espalier can be found at its new home on Boylston Street, adjacent to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. L'Espalier is a culinary exploration, featuring sophisticated and modern New England-French cuisine, with an emphasis on artisanal and New England ingredients.

**Please note we are not able to accept reservations for the Chef's Table, Wine Monday, or Cheese Tuesday on OpenTable.com.

"An almost thwarted evening due to the flight delay of my visiting guest turned into a brilliant evening of solo dining with the fine service and expert menu and wine suggestions of Kevin & Christopher and the shared reminiscences with Charles of the Cote d'Azur. Some of the finest dining rooms in the world fail to embrace the trepidation of a single diner but L'Espalier orbited high above them all!!! The brightest French planet in all of Boston!!!!"
