Just minutes from downtown San Diego, the convention center, and Mission Valley. The Prado at Balboa Park is located in one of the parks most beautiful buildings. Under chef Jonathon Hale's creative direction the Prado Restaurant has won honors as San Diego's Best New Restaurant, has been named one of America's top 10 restaurants by Gourmet Magazine, received the coveted "four star" award by the California Restaurant writers association. Continental cuisine paired with truly excellent service, unique ambiance, hand crafted decor and outdoor/indoor dining year round are just some of the reason's why we've won "most romantic" and "best special occasion" restaurant.

"We dined on the outdoor patio at Prado before going to the Old Globe theater. Thought we had plenty of time with a 6 pm dinner and 8pm show. Thankfully the waiter, Michael, reminded us that the Tuesday show started at 7pm. He remained cognizant of the time and made sure the dishes were served promptly so that we were able to enjoy our meal and get to the theater on time! The grilled portabella salad & halibut entree were very good. This is one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego"

Enjoy exquisite gourmet cuisine masterfully prepared by our Executive Chef Fabrice Hardel and his talented staff in the hotel's Westgate Room. Recently voted the "Best Seafood Restaurant" by San Diego Reader Magazine, the restaurant offers guests a delectable menu of contemporary fare with creative new dishes as well as Hardel's reinvention of classic gastronomy. Within an atmosphere of European elegance and class, our attentive staff provides unequalled service for those enjoying breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night after-theatre dessert. AFTERNOON TEA Enjoy a respite from the ordinary at the Westgate’s Afternoon Tea. Relax to the melodious sounds of a harp while you indulge in a delightful array of delicious tea sandwiches, sweet pastries, scones and seasonal berries. Seatings for our traditional tea service are offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 until 5:00 p.m. Private teas can be arranged for your group. In addition to formal teas, champagne and wine are available

"The food was great, service was very good, outdoor table in a quiet neighborhood on a lovely night - what could be wrong with this picture? We ordered the Chef's Special Wine Pairing dinner. For the first course, they were out of the wine that was listed in the pairing so they substituted the same varietal from a different label - it was good too. For the second course, they were out of the halibut and substituted a diver scallop to serve with Chardonnay. This was also good, but the pairing was not perfect. Course three - they were out of the Grenache and substituted an inadequate Cab. We sent it back - then they "found" one last bottle of the listed wine. Last course went without a hitch, but the whole experience was not what we expected."
