Kelvin is a unit of measurement for temperature, but is also the measurement most often used for the color of light sources. <br><br><br />The modern yet relaxed ambience features breakfast, lunch, and dinner with both individual or communal style seating that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

Welcome to CUCINA urbana, a casual Italian American Neighborhood Kitchen and Wine Shop located in the heart of Banker's Hill. The menu highlights the cuisines of various Italian regions with a distinct California ‘farm to table’ flair for which the Urban Kitchen Group has become known. Chef Joe Magnanelli is excited to preview his Italian heritage and create dishes that are fresh, simple and seasonal. Items include: antipasti, artisan pizza, pasta and piatti. Enjoy wine by the glass or visit the Wine Spectator award-winning wine shop and select a bottle from over 100 selections at retail price ($8 corkage fee applies). The space features contemporary elements and vintage artifacts creating the feel of a modern Italian kitchen combined with the history and comfort of an old rustic country farmhouse. A focus on raw, sustainable material is evident with much product coming from recycled/reclaimed local sources.

FISH PUBLIC is the newest neighborhood restaurant concept from Tracy Borkum and Urban Kitchen Group, located in the heart of Kensington in the previous Kensington Grill location. Heading up the heart of the house is Executive Chef Jordan Davis; a fresh new culinary talent recently arrived to San Diego. Jordan brings experience from Nancy Oakes’ multi-James Beard winning Boulevard in San Francisco as well as the Food & Wine recognized nose-to-tail restaurant, Animal in Los Angeles. Davis’ seafood menu features distinct regional fare from the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Craft cocktails, draft and bottled beer and beautiful wines have been hand selected to pair well with each offering available on the menu. <br /><br />

"Food offerings were very good. The restaurant week offerings were cheaper off the regular menu so we did that. Noise was up there even with a few empty tables. But an overall good experience and we will go again when in the neighborhood."

"We enjoyed the evening at the Red Door. They offered a good menu for Restaurant Week and there were even more great looking offerings on the regular menu. Butternut squash lasagna was a very good choice. The decor was very nice and the servers were appropriately attentive. Noise level picked up as the place filled up. Overall a very good dining experience and we plan to go back."

"Bo Beau is a wonderful improvement over the previous establishment. It brings another top flight dine dining experience to La Mesa. Food selection is interesting, delicious and well prepared. The decor feels very warm and comfortable. The service staff are very polite and efficient and the noise level was such that a table of 4 can easily converse without a problem. Very nice all around."

"We were very pleased with the restaurant week offerings at Cucina urbana. The food was delicious and portions were right sized - although it was so good we wished there would have been enough to take home. The location is good for street parking. A very popular spot, but not so loud that you can not talk with others at your table. We'll go back"

"We ate at the Blind Burro during restaurant week. Our first impression was that we made a mistake - it appeared to be just another loud, dimly lit gaslamp bar. So we were surprised that the food was actually very good and creatively prepared - except for the tortilla chips which were very greasy and tough. It was so loud that we had a hard time hearing and communicating with our waitress, so that must mean that a lot of people were enjoying this place. We will probably not return, but others who like an energetic bar crowd and better food than most bars will find this place to their liking."

"You can expect to be treated very well by all staff at Vintana - and expect beautifully plated dinners with very large portions. Everything here is very good. It's just a little strange to look out the scenic view windows to view the Lexus car lot."

"Great food here, and lots of it. Chef Debra Scott serves up some fabulous signature dishes and new takes on classics. Entree's are easily large enough to share of save some for lunch tomorrow. The location - 3rd floor of the Lexus car dealer in Escondido - is kinda weird, but it works. Well worth the visit."
