Bistro 29 located in downtown Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. Bistro 29 is a traditional bistro specializing in “Breton” regional cuisine. The number 29 comes from the department of Finistère (end of the earth) located in the upper tip of north-west France. Known for the Galette de blé noir (traditional buckwheat crêpe) and sweet crêpes, Bretagne also uses a variety of local seafood and produce that can easily be found in and around northern California.

"Reservations for four at 5:30 . We ordered most of our dinner off the Happy Hour menu and were pleasantly surprised! Mussels, pate, croque Monsieur. Ordered a simple little salad and TWO orders of frittes. A little dissapointed in a savory buckwheat crepe from the main menu. They are known for these crepes but just not our favorite."

"We joined the wine club after enjoying the food and wine pairing with friends a few weeks ago. Then invited our out-of-town guest to go with us. Menu and wines were different. On both occasions we were blown away with the food and how perfectly it paired with the selected wines. It will become our go to restaurant for special lunch. Just WOW!"

"On fun Belden Pl alley, Plouf specializes in mussels. We tried the poutine and the coconut milk. Both were good and PLENTIFUL. Also ordered the clam chowder which my husband really liked. The mussels were very tender but a bit too rich with the quantity of cream in the broth. Would stop by again when shopping Union Sq but would try a different preparation."

Goose & Gander is a charming restaurant in St. Helena, located in Walter Martini's historic 1920 bungalow. Lunch & Dinner is served daily in the basement bar, the dining room, & in the garden. Goose & Gander is a wine country public house and a local favorite, as well as the perfect spot to host events up to 100 people.

"We have dined at Goose and Gander several times and have never been disappointed. On this occasion we made an early reservation and on confirmation we were told a booth had been set aside for us. Nice. As it turned out we were very late making it to the restaurant. I did call to explain and they said they could still accommodate us. When we arrived all the booths were full and most of the tables. There remained one table near the kitchen with nice banquet seating. They were so gracious in seating us there and we had a great time watching the kitchen and seeing the different plates come out. Although they have a great wine list, it is Napa Valley!, we wanted to try various whiskys. They also have an excellent bar selection. Marcus guided us through and we had fun trying his suggestions. Love the small plates! Fried olives and bone marrow are special favorites."

The Cavalier is an all-day London-inspired brasserie, located in the new Hotel Zetta.

This is the third property for restaurateurs Anna Weinberg, James Nicholas & Chef Jennifer Puccio; the team behind Marlowe and Park Tavern. The team has collaborated with award winning San Francisco designer Ken Fulk, who has revamped the interior in deep leather banquettes, polished brass, zinc and white marble, giving it a posh and sultry feel.

"Started with parking. First time at this restaurant so arrived at entrance with early reservation. Went in to ask where to park. I am somewhat handicapped and it was raining, hoped for valet. Took a long time before we could get any help. Was told we could park in public parking lot a little more than a block away or the adjoining hotel around the corner offered valet parking but did not offer discount for the restaurant. Forced to use valet. Seated in back room. Atmosphere seemed fun. Music was AWFUL AND LOUD! Requested twice the have the volume turned down. Waiter was not very friendly. Ordered cocktails, fried Brussels sprouts (very good), rabbit pie, fish and chips, and the famous "Marlowe" burger. The best food item was the chilled English pea salad that came with the burger. Overall only an okay experience."

Cafe Gibraltar is a truly unique restaurant, owned and operated by Chef Jose Luis Ugalde and his wife Liam Durkee, it is a warm and welcoming space where every patron's positive experience is extremely valued. The menu is creative and expertly prepared by Jose Luis. He utilizes organic ingredients, primarily locally grown and raised, and creates dishes that honor their cultural origins, yet showcase his unique vision and artistry. The name Gibraltar is inspired by the Straights of Gibraltar, which are the gateway to the Mediterranean. Jose Luis creates cuisine that represents cultures along the entire rim of the Mediterranean. The seasonal menu may feature dishes from France, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Macedonia, Greece and any of the countries of North Africa. Check out our website for current menus featuring the bounty of our local farms and ranches and the fresh bounty of the sea. Cafe Gibraltar only utilizes fresh seafood, and we often get our fish straight off of the boat.

"Don't miss the Vegan soup! We are omnivores but Cafe Gibralter does the most delicious vegan soup imaginable. On this occasion it was a purée of sunchoke and squash. The flavor of the sunchoke really stood out, instead of being buried in cream. I could have a bowl everyday and never tire of it. Everything is special and delicious."

"Only reservation I could get for Sunday Brunch was 1:45PM. Seated outside. It was okay when we first arrived but began to cool off so we requested the heater near our table be turned on. Ordered our entrees, oysters, appetizers, and Bloody Mary's (which were great). Took awhile for the drinks to arrive. And we were also told they had run out of the entree we ordered so back to the menu to order something else. Table next to us requested the heater be turned off so we were once again left in the cold. Everything was too slow. Food good but not great."

"Have had many great meals from Mateo going back long before he had his brick and mortar restaurant. This occasion brought us to the restaurant for a special dinner paired with Wahaka Mezcal, which I had learned about at a tasting. I was eager to try a food pairing menu paired with Mezcal. Was not disappointed. Everything was delicious. Also incredably reasonable for three courses and the paired cocktails. Hoping for another special pairing!"
