Cuisine inspired by the coastal towns of the Mediterranean. Intuitive service and a beautiful seaside setting. The food is about discovery: the freshest fish, fire grilled steaks, roasted free-range poultry, citrus, olives and market fresh vegetables all bursting with flavor. The luscious desserts, sophisticated cocktails and wine complete your journey. Escape to the good life at Cafe del Rey

"I went for a business dinner (table of four) all out of town guest (including ME!) The service and food were wonderful. A great range of delicious seafood (barramundi, salmon, shrimp) for my co-workers - I selected the lamb burger and was in HEAVEN. The seasoning was "just right" with sheep’s milk cheese, tzatziki, marinated cucumber, and it was complement by a basket of harissa spiced fries (I had a few). Then the dessert course - I am gluten and dairy intolerant, so I was going to pass based on the menu provided, BUT our server suggested the sorbet. It was coconut, strawberry and mango. I am not a mango fan, so I opted for two scoops of coconut and one strawberry.... TALK ABOUT AMAZING! In fact, one gentleman with me remarked, "I was trying to slow myself down to enjoy it, but it was so good I couldn't stop!" It was possibly the BEST sorbet I have ever had. So this was icing on the cake after a delicious meal served with the utmost respect for our business conversations. The only down side - the NOISE within the place. We had to yell across the table to be heard - it was extremely LOUD."

For over 25 years, Max"s has served America's favorite foods with an upscale style at affordable prices. Boasting "everything you've always wanted to eat," only at Max's will you find a corned beef reuben, chinese chicken salad, ribeye steak, BBQ ribs and portabello mushroom pasta all on one table. And for those with a sweet tooth, Max's sinful, award winning desserts will keep you coming back for more.

Whether you listen to the singing servers at the Max's Opera Cafes, the Golden Oldies at Max's Diners, or the days events from family and friends at Max's Cafes, one thing is for sure, you won't walk away hungry.

"Celebrated my sister's birthday here - a party of seven, we made a reservations and were seated at a large booth in the back, upon arrival. Max's has a large menu with all kinds of delicious appetizers, salads, main courses and DESSERT! After a round of cocktails - the lemon drops were fabulous, we ordered dinner. This time I had the beet salad, while others order hamburgers, a patty melt, as well as the chicken pot pie. We were all pleased with the food - the temperature of each plate was right and there were NO complaints. I shared the key lime pie and my sister was treated to a delicious hot fudge sundae, which had a burning candle on top, with complementary singing by the staff."

"Having had an over-the-top, excellent first experience at Mastro's in 2013, I decided to take a group of six here for a 2014 holiday celebration. Reservations at 5:30pm - it was a ten minute wait to be seated... only a single family of four ahead of us - the place was not ready for the night. Not a great start. Sam(antha), our server was very attentive when we arrived and orders were taken, food delivered. Everyone was happy (except for two individuals who were burned by the HOT HOT HOT plates and needed ice). By then, the restaurant was full (tables so close together servers could not make it through to deliver anything) and service went downhill to non-existent. Drinks were not refilled, orders forgotten, servers nowhere to be found - it was TOO MANY people in an over packed, noisy, crowded space with not enough legs / hands to deal with the requirements of the customers. I was embarrassed by the comments received from my guests - it was to be a FABULOUS night, and while the food was good (one side - the baked potato was served cold) it was NOT the outstanding experience of food and service I had before. We order a wide variety of steaks, seafood and sides, all delicious. The standout was the butter cake dessert!! The restaurant has high pre- / post-customer service - I was called both before and after the meal to thank me, but the experience left a lot to be desired. I presume we can attribute the demands of holiday crowds to be the reason for the disappointment - not certain I would go back again :("

Welcome to our beautifully restored Victorian with a contemporary twist. Neumanali opened six years ago and quickly became a neighborhood favorite. The menu features both fresh and seasonal entrees in addition to a selection of fun and unusual small plates. Perennial favorites are the pan-seared day boat scallops and "made to order" cioppino. The wine list is a bit eclectic and features smaller, more difficult to find winery selections. Lush garden dining is available in the summer and fall.

"I was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in Hayward; the location in a renovated Victorian sets a sense of style and elegance not found in many locations. The food (we started with salads - I had the house mix and my friend had the Caesar salad; the entre' - I had chicken with tomatoes and Kalamata olives and mashed potatoes, while my friend had the filet with pasta) was well thought-out, with distinct flavors that melded well together, but were also somewhat unexpected. The quality of the food was very good - you could tell that care was taken in the preparation, plating and serving. We both had dessert - I had the triple layer chocolate cake with fresh raspberries and my friend had the ice cream sundae. Everything was DELICIOUS!!"
