 Brook 23 Bar + Kitchen
Brook 23 Bar + Kitchen
Brook 23 Bar + Kitchen is a gastropub, owned and operated by Chef Richard Soriano, in the spot formerly occupied by J Maggs, Village Square, and the Beanery. The décor is warm and inviting with an old school American theme. Chef Soriano has put together an eclectic mix of fun sharing appetizers and exquisite entrees. Higher end tavern food like our duck fries (a take on poutine), smoked salmon deviled eggs, and smoked short rib sliders stand out on this extremely unique and delicious menu. The beverage program specializes in whiskey and craft beer, with 16 crafts on tap and over 30 bourbons available in tasting glasses or full glasses. Creative cocktails with house made accompaniments along with Chef Soriano’s fun twists on classic pub fare make Brook 23 the newest “Hot Spot” in long Island.

"Decided to try someplace new in town, looked at the menu online, and said why not? Glad we did. I had the oyster slider app which was perfect for me, and my husband had the hotdog sliders. I also had the braised short ribs which were very good, but the gravy was fantastic! and my husband had the hanger steak which was even better then my short ribs. Would definitely go back! A few other items on their menu that I would love to try!"

Celebrating American ethnic dished found all over Brooklyn, the menu features the kind of real food you crave to eat, just like your mother used to make...only better. Every part of Brooklyn is represented by Jewish, Italian, Irish & other ethnic favorites. The enormous desserts, all baked fresh on the premises daily, surpass every childhood fantasy. Come home again – and bring your friends.

"We've been here MANY times, but this might have been the last. Almost $100 for 2 burgers, 2 sodas, a cup of tea & a cup of coffee? Unheard of! Not only has the menu changed since our last visit (my fave dish wasn't even on the menu any longer), but the prices seem to have gone up as well. Also, if you're going to put salt shakers on the table, then make a choice: regular, everyday salt shakers with table salt, OR rock salt in a grinder, but don't put rock salt in a regular shaker because it doesn't shake through the holes!!!!! Totally disappointing. We should have gone elsewhere or, better yet, headed home to eat at one of our favorite local restaurants for half the price of the "Diner". We won't be back again"
