"Circle Bistro is near work, and the menu and pricing appealed to me. We found a lovely little restaurant with a friendly staff and creative food selections, yet it was virtually empty! Just 1 table was occupied when we arrived, a few filled in later. The waitress's suggestions let me to an app and salad vs entree: delicious corn chowder and amazing tomato and watermelon salad (yellow watermelon - who knew? Same taste, less 'watery'). My guest's burger was prepared to her liking, and we had desserts, too YUM!. I recommend Circle Bistro to Washington Circle/Foggy Bottom diners who seek a quieter yet classy option to the hyper-busy and noisier restaurants south of the Circle. Enjoy (we did!)"

Where the Left and the Right agree to meat.

Locals know the “real” business of Washington often gets done over the dinner table. And on any given day, our steakhouse is a prime place to spot the wheels of democracy in action. From quiet formal dining rooms to a bustling Wollensky’s Grill to an outside patio perfect for enjoying spring cherry blossoms, you’ll find a variety of venues to suit any occasion. Private rooms available for up to 450.

"My lunch guest and I enjoyed sitting on the terrace on a pleasant day. The waitress told us about the 'special' soup Gazpacho, which sounded good to both of us. However, When it arrived there were two pieces of shrimp garnishing the dish, and my guest is allergic to shellfish. No mention of the shrimp was made be the waitress beforehand. When we asked them to bring a bowl without the shrimp for her, the said it was the last bowl (at 12:15). Also, Open Table emailed me that I had not honored the reservation, even though I checked on on time and gave my name saying I had a reservation."

Vermilion features Chef William Morris' menu of Contemporary American cuisine. Complimenting Chef Morris' menu is Vermilion's wine list, named one of the top wine lists in the country by Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. Combining a charming location in Old town Alexandria with stylized design and atmosphere, Vermilion represents a bit of downtown sophistication: from the exposed brick in the upstairs dining room to the overstuffed pillows in the lounge downstairs, Vermilion holds something for all tastes.

"We chose Barolo because of its close proximity to our hotel, but would select it again for the excellent food and outstanding service. Our waiter was delightful; very helpful with menu suggestions for our vegan guest."

"With my sister visiting from out of town, she said she wanted to take us to dinner, and we selected Bastille. I was somewhat surprised to see all tables filled on a rainy weeknight, but the excellent food and service illustrated why that was the case. Thoughtfully paired ingrediants, artfully prepared, with many interesting food options. I thoroughly enjoyed my pan seared scallops with roasted cauliflower. Well done"

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our brunch - we both ordered from the brunch menu: Eggs Benedict, one with sirloin, the other with crabcakes (the sirloin was better, as the crabcake was a bit soggy). Meal included the 1st class salad bar. The view is unbeaten in Alexandria and most of the metropolitan area. Waitstaff and hostesses were friendly and professional. We can't wait until the weather warms up so we can have drinks and appetizers on the outdoor terrace."

"We were kind of disappointed that, even though I put in the Open Table reservation notes that we wanted to be seated outside, the maitre'd told us that they could seat us inside. We were seated by the window, which was nice, but we saw dozens of empty tables on the extensive terraces. It appears that they may not have had sufficient wait staff working outside, Our waiter, while professional and helpful, seemed overly rushed as well - - working many tables. My brunch dish was tasty (smoked salmon BLT), but my 2 dining companions weren't very happy with theirs (Monte Cristo sandwich, and Traditional Breakfast). After brunch we bought drinks at the terrace bar, where there was ample seating and the matchless view of the Potomac."
