Delivering the bounty of the eastern shore line to the Upper West Side is Ed’s Chowder House, a new restaurant by Chef Ed Brown (chef/owner of Michelin Star-rated restaurant eighty one) and China Grill Management. Inspired by the ports of the East Coast, Brown’s refined yet unpretentious take on authentic “sea shack cuisine” features signature seafood in a vibrant, energetic setting complete with a raw bar and a full-service Chowder Bar serving crisp cocktails, cold microbrews, namesake chowders, steamers, lobster rolls and more.

"Hung up getting into the Lincoln Tunnel, Ed's Chowder House accommodated us even though we were 40 minutes late for our reservation. They seated us even though there was a crowd waiting and our waiter got us our soup and salad in record time. One or two clams were a bit tough in the chowder, but the salad was crisp and fresh and we even had time for hot tea before a 7:30 curtain. We will go back often, I'm sure!"

Located in a brownstone in the heart of the Upper West Side, La Boite en Bois has been a favorite among diners for 28 years. With its rustic ambiance, it feels as though you are in a bistro in the French countryside. In close proximity to Lincoln Center, we offer a pre-theater menu. Serving classics from Escargot to Salmon to Roasted Duck, you will be delighted with our extensive selections. We serve lunch everyday, with a variety of salads, panini, and classic French dishes, such as Croque Monsieur and Onion Soup. Come Sunday for our Brunch, and enjoy Eggs Benedict or Pain Perdu (French Toast). At La Boite en Bois, our attentive and well-trained staff will be sure to provide you with a memorable experience.

"Perfect place for a late night supper after the opera and a fun way to ring in the NewYear! A bit crowded and noisy but hats and horns and a free after dinner drink for all made this a delightful occasion. Rack of lamb and the veal chop were superb. Our first time here but it won't be the last!"
