Osteria Mozza is the Michelin Starred upscale sibling to the adjacent Pizzeria Mozza, both the brainchild of partners Nancy Silverton, Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich. Anchored by Nancy's massive Mozzarella bar, the soaring Osteria provides a sophisticated but lively environment to enjoy a menu inspired by her dazzling work with Mozzarella and other fresh cheeses and Batali's exploits throughout Italy. The all-Italian wine list continues the tradition by offering bottlings from the country's finest producers with a focus on Piedmont, Friuli and Tuscany.

A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses<br />the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.

"I've been to A16 many times and it never disappoints.
Probably not on the top list of restaurants in SF, but a good solid performer for authentic modern Italian food. Definitely recommended.

Nestled in the heart of the Mission District, Range is the creation of husband and wife team, Phil and Cameron West. Since the summer of 2005 Range has welcomed diners into a warm, inviting space furnished with wood floors, zinc table tops, leather banquettes and art deco elements.<br /><br />As the seasons change, the food and cocktail programs follow suit. Chef Phil West’s compact menu offers locally grown and sustainably cultivated ingredients with succinct flavors layered into sophisticated fare. Pastry Chef Michelle Polzine’s thoughtfully hand-crafted desserts provide an innovative yet classic finish to the meal. Specialty cocktails reflect the produce market’s bounty and every day a new cocktail is created by our talented bartending staff. Range’s entire front room and full bar are set aside for diners without reservations to have anything from a quick drink or dessert to a fully coursed meal.

"I came here with my partner to celebrate his birthday. It was a special occasion and we haven't been disappointed. The food was very skilfully made. These type of restaurants tend to overdo (foam, sauces, emulsions etc.), while Range was quite simple yet very tasty. I would definitely recommend."
