Since first opening its doors in 1984, Gotham Bar and Grill has epitomized New York City dining at its finest, serving Executive Chef Alfred Portale's sublime and refreshingly accessible Contemporary American Cuisine in a dining room that is consistently packed with sophisticated diners from all over the country and the world. One of the secrets of Gotham's success is that it is an institution that has never become institutional. The unparalleled quality of the food and service are constants, but the rest of the Gotham experience is constantly updated to keep the restaurant feeling as fresh as the day it opened. New menu items are introduced each season, the wine list is always evolving, and the dining room is regularly revamped. Gotham Bar and Grill has been honored as Most Outstanding Restaurant in the nation by the James Beard Foundation, which named Chef/Owner Alfred Portale Most Outstanding Chef in the nation for 2006.

"Dinner at Gotham Bar and Grill is always a treat, but last evening proved to be the exception. It was hard for me to define, but the service was not as good as it usually is. For example, one of our desserts was mistakenly given to another table and it took almost ten minutes to replace. The biggest complaint of the evening was the "peanut butter sundae" which was missing something. It was not good and all four of us tasted it and came up with the same result. I have had many good meals here and will be back, as I trust it was just an "off" evening."

"It had been years since my wife and I had dinner at Spice Market and this time, like last we were not disappointed. The service was professional, efficient and very helpful as our server Brett went out of his way to be helpful. The diverse menu allowed us to pick several items that were all beautifully presented and delicious. This is an "in" restaurant, but for us in our late 60s it was a magical evening. We plan to return again soon."

Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich's flagship restaurant, located on Waverly Place in Greenwich Village, opened to great acclaim in 1998 and is as bustling and popular as ever. It offers three-star dining that redefines and reinvents the principles of Italian cuisine for 21st century America. An epic, landmark wine list, an exciting, quintessentially New York dining room and expert, attentive and cordial service make a table at Babbo one of New York’s prized possessions.

"I know that Babbo is Mario Batali's flagship restaurant and when I entered the restaurant I saw a crowded space with a scene at the bar that was overcrowded and busy, and yet ... the management does an amazing job. My wife and I were quickly seated upstairs and a waiter appeared almost at once to take our water order as well as our drinks. He allowed us as much time as we wanted to enjoy our cocktails, and when we were ready to order, he appeared and was very helpful with the menu. The food was delicious, the presentation was perfect and the restaurant did an amazingly efficient job of delivering the wonderful dishes. We loved our meal and will be back again."

"Dining at Tocqueville is always a treat and last evening proved to be no different. This is a very sophisticated restaurant that serves very fine food in a beautiful setting. The service is professional and yet it is done with a warm sense of humor. The dishes that we enjoyed last evening were the sea scallops with foie gras and the pan roasted sea trout. Both dishes were creative and delicious, and the sauces were amazing and complemented each dish perfectly. This is a very pretty space ... the serene atmosphere can be enjoyed for a business dinner or for a special occasion. We cannot wait to return."

"My wife and I have been frequenting Annisa for over a decade now and it honestly just keeps getting better. Anita Lo works magic in the kitchen and the inventive as well as diverse menu is amazing. The extremely knowledgeable wait staff is professional and the presentation of the dinner is just perfect. Annisa is a very pretty restaurant and it competes with all of the upscale restaurants in the City. Annisa is gem in the West Village, and once again we are looking forward to returning."

"Dining at Barrio 47 is always a treat and it just never disappoints. My wife and I arrived for a late dinner and everything from the greeting to the drinks and dinner was amazing. They have a few new items on their menu that were wonderful, and the service was professional and friendly. This has become a "go-to" restaurant for us and it always makes for an enjoyable evening."

"The food at Flex Mussels is very good ... 23 different ways to enjoy a pot of mussels never disappoints, is always a great evening and is consistently good. But I am now starting to question their prices and portions. It should be noted that they have raised their prices on oysters that now cost $3.25 an oyster if it is from the east coast, or $3.75 for a west coast variety (they still run $3.00 apiece at Union Square Cafe). Also the pad of butter served with their very good bread is now actually half of a pad. The portions of mussels look smaller as well .... I think that Flex Mussels is trying to save money at the expense of their patrons."

"My wife and I along with another couple enjoyed another wonderful meal at All'Onda. This was our second time dining here and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is charming with old brick walls surrounding a well decorated space. The service was professional and not at all intrusive. All four of us enjoyed our dishes that ranged from fish to pasta to meat. This restaurant is a treat and we will return again."

"My wife and I enjoyed our evening at The House. This is a very special and spectacularly beautiful old house that has been tastefully refurnished to become a lovely place to enjoy drinks and dinner. We chose to sit upstairs after a warm welcome. It took a long time to order a drink and then a long time to receive it, but after that the service was improved and professional. The food is very good with a mushroom/cheese/truffle oil flatbread that was amazing. My scallop dish was very good, but the brussels sprouts missed the mark. We will return to this very pretty and very romantic restaurant."

"The Union Square Cafe is always at the top of our list when we want a special place in the City to dine. The food is consistently wonderful, the atmosphere is is always celebratory without being too loud and the service is always professional. However the best part is the very warm welcome that everyone receives from the ladies that check you in and seat you to the manager that stops by to make sure that everything is OK. My wife and I often frequent high-end restaurants in New York City and the Union Square Cafe always shines!"
