Tornative's Reviews

Dear Patron,

Welcome to bar MERCURIO. We are a quaint Italian restaurant that serves fresh pasta, a fish of the day, classic antipasti, and not - like our artichoke au gratin appitizer. With our salads you will find an anchovy partial cesar salad to a healthy dandelion salad with shaved crotonese cheese.

And what stands out are our pizzas. Our pizza dough has been a family recipe for over 100 years and not compromised. We don't do any of the new soft dough stuff that is trendy and etc etc

We serve classic pizzas like buffola and prosciutto to "crazy" stuff like pistacchio and fennel sausage.

Our gluten free crust is uncompromising.

In addition, we are pleased to be able to offer an interesting selection of wines by the glass with our Enomatic dispensing machine.

We look forward to seeing you.

Yours Truly,
Giuseppe Mercurio,
Proprietor

"... and have for many, many years. It is consistently GREAT and I can't say that about many Toronto restaurants. The food is always amazing and there is something on the menu for everyone. My friend and I decided to share a few plates for a long, leisurely lunch (with wine) and we enjoyed everything we ordered. We started with an arugula salad with crab, avacado and beets. Then moved onto a beautiful thin crust pizza with fennel sausage and wonderfully goopy cheese. Then we sampled the artichoke pasta. The house red wine by-the-glass was great too, but unfortunately doesn't come in half- or full-litres. We finished off with Americanos (also fabulous) and were too full to even think about dessert."

Stylish, upscale eatery, bar lounge and patio by restaurateurs Peter Oliver and Michael Bonacini (Canoe, Jump, Biff's Bistro, Auberge du Pommier). Steps to the Air Canada Centre, Sony Centre, Bay Street Business District and Yonge Street Theatre District.

Offers modern, fresh market cuisine, and superior service. Enjoy a diverse selection of inspired North American dishes, including made-from-scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, fire-roasted pizzas, market fresh seafood and locally sourced meat. Innovative cocktails, great value wines and a full bar menu make O&B Café Grill the perfect destination for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch or cocktails. In season, enjoy a full wrap around patio on one of Toronto's most iconic downtown corners.

"... when it opened. I am not sure the menu has changed much at all since its opening. I live in the neighbourhood so if I loved O&B I would be there weekly, but I don't love it. The 'after daily trading closes' crowd packs the outdoor patio bar every week night that you really wouldn't fit in unless you had a suit on and were with a pack of brokers. I much prefer other O&B locations."

Barsa Taberna is a modern Tapas premium casual restaurant, situated in the heart of downtown Toronto facing the St. Lawrence market. The restaurant's unique concept will offer a combination of electrifying Tapas, Entre and Drink menus. The influence of Barcelona is the leading inspiration in our concept and design, where hints of Picasso and Gaudi’s references are portrayed. Our concept is derived from the distinctive atmosphere, art, cuisine and culture of Barcelona as we thrive to create a vibrant, upscale yet casual experience for our patrons.

"Cute quasi-tapas resto across from St. Lawrence Market. Nice patio seating area (some with fireplaces). I admire the fact that they have respectfully renovated a historic building to create a fun & modern stone lined cave for the bar & dining areas. Lovely decor & servers (although it wouldn't hurt to throw in a Spaniard or two). The menu is interesting and creative, but not truly Spanish tapas (and I consider myself knowledgeable on the subject as my family has lived in Spain since the dawn of time). The plates are perfectly sized and very nicely presented. This would not be a good choice for "a hungry man dinner", but the perfect choice for grazing through many plates and glasses of wine."

Portuguese-bent cuisine in the true center of downtown Toronto. Featuring fresh fish and seafood such as lobster, tiger shrimp, and octopus. The rustic Mediterranean atmosphere charms everyone. Private dining facilities are also available.

"Thank you Adega for another perfect dinner. My two Finnish friends were impressed with all aspects of the restaurant – from the variety of menu selections, the olives, bread, olive oil, seafood and its creative presentation, as well as warm and professional service. I'll be back soon!"
