"The Hamilton, which inhabits the old Garfinkel's store on 14th Street for those of us old enough to remember it, is a huge restaurant. However, it is beautifully appointed in rich wood paneling with comfortable booths, lots of plants and even a Sushi bar. I had some sushi to start with -- it was good, but could have been served colder. I also had the Classic Eggs Benedict, as did my friend. For my taste, there was too much ham, which was incredibly salty. My friend also got the fried calamari, which was very good. We also got the donuts for dessert, which came warm with a caramel sauce on the side. However, be forewarned, there are 4 rather large "donuts", and you may find it difficult to finish them all like we did!"

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"Le Diplomate is a very busy, very French restaurant that honored our reservation as soon as we walked in. When we were not happy with our original table, they gave us another table in a quieter section of the restaurant. The service was great, and the food was delicious. We had Duck Confit, Steak Frites, Trout and Salmon. They even put a birthday candle in my dessert since it was my birthday! The building used to be an old laundry so the ceilings are very high and the restaurant is enormous, and there are references in french to "whitening the shirts." However, the space is divided into several smaller sections and they seem to be adequately staffed for the number of people being served. I would definitely go back & recommend it to all."

"I was there for lunch recently with 3 friends. McCormick & Schmick has always been consistent in it's food quality, service and ambiance. However, this time, the food took FOREVER coming out from the kitchen. We were all very surprised. The waitress never apologized when the food finally came and since we were not in a hurry this time, we didn't mention it. But it was very noticeable. Hopefully this is not a trend. Otherwise, the food was good and the service was a bit brisk but attentive."

"First visit to Founding Farmers. We had a reservation - which I highly recommend. When our table was ready, the hostess found us at the bar without any need for a beeper, which i thought was very impressive. The place was packed on a Sunday at 1:00pm. My friend and I opted for brunch rather than lunch, but were given a choice of menus. Our eggs were cooked perfectly and were served at the correct temperature. We ordered the beignets, which were fantastic with three dipping sauces. Even if you don't have room to eat them, order them anyway! There are 6 to an order, come out warm and are really delicious! In the end, I was just sorry I couldn't order more food from the menu because all of it looked so good. Will definitely go back!"
