"I had wanted to 'test the water' at this still fairly new restaurant & my first opportunity was to attend a 7 chef event on a monday when they prepared a wine-paired tasting meal of all 'fowl' dishes…chicken, duck, gizzards…etc. Some, understandably, being more enjoyable than others. Overall, I was very impressed. It's a good place to go for a relaxed meal with friends and the food is definitely tasty. We returned a week or two later (with friends) for a brunch (we had overheard people exclaiming it's virtues) and, again, were pleased. The atmosphere I would describe as 'high-end Crackerbarrel' and, in fact, that description, which I do not consider a dig at all, is an accurate one in many respects. Service on both occasions was lacking somewhat in the 'impression leaving' department…something to work on perhaps?"

Owner/Chef Eric Ripert continues to set unsurpassed standards with his piscatorial paradise and partner Maguy Le Coze's seamless and unparalleled service.

*When making your reservation, please indicate in the Special Requests box if you will be attending THEATER so that we may accommodate you appropriately.

"Is that putting too much pressure on Chef Ripert? I doubt it. He must thrive on the quest for excellence every minute of every day. That is the only way the perfect confluence of food, drink, service & atmosphere can be achieved so consistently. Honestly, I feel like royalty when I dine at Le Bernardin and that's no accident…look around…you're surrounded by the 'toniest' crowd in town, eating the finest food and drinking the best wines in a room that in another era could only exist on the top floor of a grand hotel. There are other experiences that are similarly transformative but they have nothing to do with dining…if you know what I mean!"

"Just what Phoenix needs, another steak house, right? Well, okay then…nobody asked me so why not try it out! YUMMMM! The tasty, deep-fried deviled eggs are a cute idea & just a tad 'gimmicky' for a starter but next time (and there WILL be a next time) I'll try something else. The warm, just out of the oven rolls are excellent at the beginning of the meal. Looking at the menu in advance, I had thought I'd order the bone-in filet but when I saw it was 18 ounces (discounting 4 or 5 oz. for the bone) I thought that's just toooo much. I asked the server if we could share it as an entree for both of us and she didn't even blink…YES! Okay we're on…now I can load up on sides. Not exactly but we did also share lobster mashed potatoes ( a special side that evening) and butter & herb sautéed fresh corn…AWE-sum!! We ordered the filet charred, medium rare which, for the thickness of the meat was entirely appropriate. The entree arrived on broiler-hot plates for each of us and the meat continued to cook as we ate…perfection. The dessert, red velvet bread pudding, sounded a little better than it tasted…but it was good. I discussed my wine preferences (price point and familiar bottles) with the server and she was quite willing and able to recommend something we hadn't tried before but knew we would like. We really enjoyed the Stag's Leap Petit Syrah…excellent with everything we ate.
Service was top notch. Not too familiar but always there when required.
It wasn't a 'special occasion' meal but just being there that night and enjoying it as much as we did made it special indeed.
Try it…you'll like it!"

Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients.

"Whenever I have superior dining experience somewhere, anywhere really, the problem always seems to be that upon returning, with expectations soooo very high, they are dashed and then I think well, I just made too much of the original visit. It must have been good but not THAT good. WELL, Jean Georges IS that good…in fact it was really EVEN better the second time around! Pricey to be sure but worth every penny (watsa penny?)!! There's a line in a film I love…"You'll never be disappointed paying too much for the best there is." That applies here…just go. Enjoy!"

"We arrived for our 7:30 reso & were graciously escorted to the best table in the house...one of only two directly opposite the bar. Gr8 for people & kitchen watching. Starting with the baked ricotta was a good idea and following with the chicken liver mousse-y & gemelli pasta was even better. On to saffron rigatoni and white anchovy with baby kale. The house made pastas are awesome & the seasonal bent in every dish is more than apparent. We heaped on at the end with the pork degustation and finished with tiramisu. This experience is not for everyone. Flavors are interesting, intense & eclectic. We LUVD it!! I MUST say we got extremely expert help in choosing our wine...essential if you don't know much about Italian wines..we don't!"

Lulu offers a seasonal Provencal menu featuring wood fired oven, rotisserie and grilled specialties. The 'family-style' cuisine is served in an impressive warehouse dining space. LuLu features an award-winning wine list and a wine bar offering over 40 wines-by-the-glass. Located in the SOMA district, just one block from the Moscone Convention Center, Lulu is the ideal spot for lunch, cocktails or a festive dinner.

"Honestly, whenever I find myself in San Francisco, I live in anticipation of a meal at Lulu's. Lulu's is the perfect example of a restaurant that knows what it does well and keeps dishing out the good stuff continuously and consistently. I always start with the roasted mussels served with lemon butter and usually go with whatever is spinning on the rotisserie that evening. On this occasion I took advantage of the prime rib Sunday special and even though I ordered the end cut it was delightfully medium rare and exhibited a complexity in it's taste profile that made it superbly delicious. The beef was served with au gratin potatoes that anyone would be challenged to copy successfully...creamy & earthy. Brussel sprouts & polenta amazing!"
