Located in the landmark Board of Trade building on State St; Bostonia Public House celebrates the history and tradition of Boston. This Tanya Nayak design thoughtfully combines rustic elements, modern accents and unique finishes that will remind Bostonians of their rich and colorful heritage. Cognac and coffee tones, tufted banquets, vintage and modern lounge seating promote a warm environment. Bostonia Public House offers a ‘refined rustic’ menu within a vibrant bar atmosphere. An exposed kitchen, bars on two floors and private rooms make Bostonia Public House a genuinely alluring gathering spot. Imaginative and locally inspired cuisine, intelligent wine and cocktail lineups, and live entertainment combine to deliver just the right amount of sociable sophistication.

Le Pois Penché perpetuates the style and spirit of Paris in the 1940s, where brasseries perfected the concept of French cuisine as ‘comfort food’. Mindful of its legacy, Le Pois Penché appeals to a mixture of young adventurous diners, seasoned connoisseurs, late-night bon vivants, tourists, and local habitués, always eager to spark conversations and chance encounters over a glass of award-winning wine and gastronomy steeped in tradition. Nowhere are their desires better fulfilled than at Le Pois Penché, where opulence and everyday delightful hospitality intertwine.

"The concierge at Hotel Omni Mont-Royal recommended Le Pois Penche & he was spot on. This place had a brasserie feel with a gorgeous menu. I sampled the Italian steak tartare with Parmesan and black truffle followed by the black cod perfectly prepared with bok choy and chanterelles. It was heaven. Michael was my server. He had fantastic recommendations and friendly, prompt service."

When diners enter this stylish restaurant in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay – steps away from the South End & Theater District – they are immediately enveloped in earth tones, rich dark wood and the airiness of high ceilings reverberating with the energy and excitement of the space. The lively bar area is a popular gathering spot offering a selection of cocktails, sake, wine and beer. Guests look on as the team of chefs create cutting-edge sushi dishes, or they settle into an experience of award-winning cuisine in the main dining area. From the knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff to charismatic owner Jack Huang’s pleasure at meeting diners, expect the comfort of being warmly welcomed at Douzo. Like the atmosphere, Douzo’s healthy and fresh cuisine seamlessly combines warm tradition and modern innovation of Japanese classics. Douzo offers inventive dishes that make the restaurant both a neighborhood fixture and a critically acclaimed destination, signature items.

Located at 40 Brattle Street in Harvard Square, Alden & Harlow serves thoughtfully sourced, honest American food in a subterranean, modern and comfortable space. Replicating the style of cooking he does for family and friends in his home kitchen, Chef Michael Scelfo prepares humble, unpretentious food that honors tradition of place in its quality. It's how he connects with anyone who joins them at their table.

While reservations are strongly suggested, we also save a portion of the dining room and bar for walk-ins in the event that your request cannot be accommodated, so, please, come on in!

Parties of 8 or more, please call to make a reservation.
"I went with a big group of friends and I think we tried everything on the menu. I was surprised that the most memorable pieces of the meal were the vegetables. The warm parsnip and pistachio dip with taleggio cheese was incredible. The crispy baby bok choy was divine. The pickled verrill farm corn pancakes had a delicious savory and sweet combination. And the kale and pork belly pappardelle was my absolute favorite."

A tribute to the old world European boucheries, The Butcher Shop is both a neighborhood wine bar and a full service butcher shop. Inspired by Chef Barbara Lynch’s travels throughout France and Italy, The Butcher Shop is the perfect place to have a glass of wine along with a small bite or linger over a meal. In the back, glass-front refrigerated cases are stocked with links of our very own sausages and hot dogs, jars of rich demi-glace, slabs of foie gras, and exquisitely marbled cuts of local beef, along with freshly prepared dishes from our kitchen.

Merrill & Co.
Merrill & Co.
Merrill & Co., named for the late Merrill Lieberman, founder of Connecticut’s Merrill Industries and known as “Pop” to many. A humble man who truly achieved the American dream, Merrill valued the kinship and hospitality found in the restaurants he frequented and they in turn appreciated his kindness and generosity. Merrill & Co. is a South End nod to the ease and comfort of the classic American diner where Pop would certainly have felt at home.

American comfort food is the focus and a raw bar features several types of oysters. Our full bar respects the best of spirits, beer & wine with a strong emphasis on house and classic cocktails. Brunch is served on Saturdays from 10 AM to 3:30 PM and from 10 AM to 8 PM on Sunday. We look forward to having you in!

"We had a party of 8 with three kids celebrating a 7 year old's birthday. Per usual, the food and drinks were divine. But what made our brunch so wonderful was the hospitality. I was truly impressed with our server. He was patient, engaging, excited and all together exceptional."
