MoCo's Founding Farmers is the newest iteration of Founding Farmers, one of the most popular restaurants in the U.S. With a fresh, seasonal menu of farmhouse favorites and new American traditional dishes, our menus of true food and drink offer something for everyone, in a modern and eco-friendly urban farmhouse setting. <br /><br><br />In addition to serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, MoCo's Founding Farmers hosts a unique “Afternoon Social,” providing a modern afternoon break for area entrepreneurs looking for a respite from coffee houses, local mom groups with toddlers in tow and retirees craving a place to socialize and a bite to eat. The Afternoon Social menu features tea sandwiches, scones, tea, cocktails, cookies and other desserts.<br /><br><br />Entrepreneurs and business professionals are always welcome at MoCo’s Founding Farmers, where we offer a mini business center and restaurant-wide, complimentary WiFi.

"Usually we like the fare. My guest loved the surf and turf. My ribeye was flavorful but overcooked, more medium than my specified medium rare. The vegetables options were unimpressive: couscous and snap peas. Maybe you'll want to try the green beans."

K Street, the road to the White House, is also the proud home to P.J. Clarke’s—the storied American Saloon with a history that dates back to the late 1800s. The original P.J. Clarke’s in Manhattan has stood beneath rows of skyscrapers for nearly 130 years, collecting famous and infamous regulars. Appreciated for the convivial ambiance and classic fare, P.J. Clarke’s is the quintessential American Saloon. In our nation’s capitol, the story continues as oak and mosaic floors, red leather banquets and walls lined with eccentric portraits and nostalgic photos contribute to a reassuring familiarity that is classic P.J.s, but also construe a distinct Washington sensibility. "The design and atmosphere are lively. Loud, not a place for intimate conversation. Feels like an NYC spot. We had the Glazed Beef Short Rib with M&C Squares, which was filling and very flavorful. I recommend it. We split an apple cake which was huge and sinful. We couldn't finish it. You can come casual. A mix of tourists and business types. I enjoyed it. A good place for atmosphere."

Domenico Cornacchia, chef/proprietor of Assaggi Osteria, taps into ages of ancestral Italian cooking each time he steps into his kitchen and brings a rich love of the cuisine that he so skillfully nurtured through the years. “Assaggi means tastings in Italian,” explains Domenico, “The concept of my menu is based on a variety of items that may be ordered in smaller portions.” Before deciding to pursue his dream of operating his own restaurant, Domenico was corporate executive chef and partner at Café Milano, for more than 15 years. His culinary umbrella also covered Café Milano’s two sister restaurants, Sette Bello in Clarendon, VA., and Sette Osteria in Dupont Circle.  For those who love Italian cuisine, Assaggi Osteria features homemade pasta’s, fresh seafood, veal and scrumptious beef. Assaggi Osteria sources whole fresh fish from worldwide sustainable sources,offering the finest bounty the sea has to offer. Produce is purchased from Amish farms and all desserts are homemade.

"Had a nice dinner with a friend. Seafood risotto was quite filling with generous amounts and a good variety of lobster, shrimp, and scallops. A bit on the salty side. House salad was big, not a small side. Bean soup was a good size and delicious. Crowded and noisy on a Saturday night. I'd go back."

A classic American gathering place, the District Chophouse & Brewery is conveniently located 1/2 block South of The Verizon Center. We pride ourselves in serving the city's finest handcrafted beers and succulent steaks, mouthwatering chops, tasty seafood, and over-sized salads. Once you've eaten here, you'll agree the 'DC' stands for District Chophouse.

"If it's a big guys crew then go for appetizers. Otherwise a small salad and steak are more than filling. My fillet was excellent, medium rare. Great atmosphere."

This grand Victorian saloon is on two levels, with four distinctive bars, including an oyster bar, and six dining rooms. Open for dinner til late in the evening, it is the perfect spot before or after a Verizon Center event, movie or the theatre, and is open for lunch and dinner daily, as well as Saturday and Sunday brunch. Be sure to check out our newest addition, The Alley Bar, on your next visit.

"Steak was cooked below requested done-ness. Server took it back but didn't return until we inquired, some 20-minutes later, as we couldn't find her earlier. We split our group. The rest of us went to the Wizards game but my brother stayed back and ate alone. No offer to rectify. We're not coming back."

"The fried oxtail is rich, creamy, and flavorful. Trust me you'll love it! Only the cramped seating at this Jaleo makes me withhold giving it a perfect rating. Your packed together and so you'll share conversations."

"We often dine at Clyde's before a game at the Verizon Center. Some servers ask if you're going to the event in order to have your bill ready in time. After we finished eating, for some 5-10 minutes we couldn't find our server and the other servers weren't helpful taking a "It's not my table" attitude. Just made it to the start of the game. Beware..."
