"Highly recommend the BBQ brisket. Very tender with slaw and beans as great complements. Filling, but not overly so. You don't need an appetizer."

A classic American gathering place, the District Chophouse & Brewery is conveniently located 1/2 block South of The Verizon Center. We pride ourselves in serving the city's finest handcrafted beers and succulent steaks, mouthwatering chops, tasty seafood, and over-sized salads. Once you've eaten here, you'll agree the 'DC' stands for District Chophouse.

"Steak was cooked below requested done-ness. Server took it back but didn't return until we inquired, some 20-minutes later, as we couldn't find her earlier. We split our group. The rest of us went to the Wizards game but my brother stayed back and ate alone. No offer to rectify. We're not coming back."

Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.

"The fried oxtail is rich, creamy, and flavorful. Trust me you'll love it! Only the cramped seating at this Jaleo makes me withhold giving it a perfect rating. Your packed together and so you'll share conversations."

"We often dine at Clyde's before a game at the Verizon Center. Some servers ask if you're going to the event in order to have your bill ready in time. After we finished eating, for some 5-10 minutes we couldn't find our server and the other servers weren't helpful taking a "It's not my table" attitude. Just made it to the start of the game. Beware..."

"You must order the creamy rice with mushrooms and cheese. A unique and rich dish! The place was packed early Saturday evening. We has reservations, a must for Jaleo! The space is compact and the seating very tight. You'll be part of the other party's conversation and it's a tight fit squeezing between tables. There's more room at the Jaleo in Crystal City, although there's an urban legend that the food is better downtown. Jaleo, what do you think?"

"I enjoyed my crab cakes, being convinced by the server that I really wanted 2 because I was hungry. I would suggest going for just one, not two. One is filling enough and you get the idea. Two are over the top. Portion control America!"
