Executive Chef Marco A. Moreira and Jo-Ann Makovitzky, owners of Tocqueville, 15 East, The Fourth, and SingL, created Botequim from Brazilian native Moreira’s vision. Following the success of Moreira’s three previous restaurants, Botequim is the establishment that will allow Moreira to explore and share his passion for Brazil. It will be a sort of “Clubhouse,” where locals and friends can gather to celebrate the music, décor, and enticing vibe of Brazil, bringing more than just a taste of authentic South American culture to New York City. The cuisine is a journey through the various regions of Brazil where Moreira has elevated the cuisine with a New York sensibility.
The restaurant features a 100-seat space equipped with three communal wooden farmhouse tables as well as a separate dining area with counter-height seating to encourage convivial tasting and sharing. An expansive open kitchen allows diners to watch as their whole fish and suckling pig roast in the hearth.
