BARTdiner's Reviews

Le Central is a neighborhood bistro located in San Francisco's bustling Financial District. A favorite of locals and visitors since it opened over three decades ago in 1974, Le Central's iconic red tabac sign has become a familiar fixture of Bush Street. Housed in a brick building, the restaurant's warm interior offers guests an authentic brasserie atmosphere. Handwritten chalk Plat du Jour menus, cozy booth seating and fresh flowers greet customers on every visit. Le Central serves traditional French cuisine such as Steak Frites, Onion Soup Gratinée, Rack of Lamb Persillé and our cassoulet which has been cooking for over 12,000 days. Le Central is owned by brothers Johnny and Paul Tanphanich who bring over four decades of French cooking to the restaurant.

Cafe Bastille has terrace seating with heating lamps and a canopy. The seating is bistro style and offers about 50 seats outdoors and 80 seats indoors. The ambiance is incredibly relax and fun. Cafe Bastille is 25 year old and was the first restaurant on Belden Alley. Private dining area downstairs is great for special event such as birthday parties, business lunches and dinners, rehearsal dinners, etc...We also have two Lunch Prix Fixe Menus $16.5 for special daily entree and $19.00 for choice of soup or salad + special daily entree. we offer as well a 3-course Dinner Prix Fixe for $35 (Soup/Salad + Entree + Dessert). Bon Appetit

Absinthe Brasserie & Bar is one of the longest-running and most convivial dining institutions in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood. Located within walking distance of Civic Center and the performing arts centers, the establishment features French and Northern Italian-influenced brasserie fare for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Absinthe’s lively bar offers classic and creative cocktails and late-night dining. <br />
