"Husband and teenage son brought me here for a surprise Mother's Day brunch. It was lovely. Elegant, comfortable seating with a scenic view. Tasty, interesting and fussy offerings (in a good way) such as rich creamy custard with salmon roe served in egg cups, oyster shooters with caviar in cucumber water glasses, tiny delectable Parisian style pastries, impeccable charcuterie boards, top notch carvery. Deep cocktail and wine list. And not too crowded - part of what you pay for is space, spaciousness and not having to wait in lines. Top it off with friendly and efficient service and it's a genuine treat."

From the team behind Blackbird and avec comes this homage to beer, pork, and fish. Executive Chef Paul Kahan and Chef de Cuisine Brian Huston have developed a network of proveyors to supply the restaurant with hand-selected, sustainably-harvested fish and seafood as well as sustainably-raised heirloom pork to anchor a rustic menu of simple, eclectic fare. The extensive international beer list, developed by partners Eduard Seitan and Terry Alexander, features 100 or so ales, lagers, stouts and ciders by the bottle, 12 of those available on tap. Like Blackbird and avec, The Publican is a design partnership from the James Beard Award-winning team of Thomas Schlesser and partner Donnie Madia.

"We had dinner here before show across the street. Left me feeling somewhat ripped off. Prices are high, but service and quality doesn't match. Server was somewhat clueless about wine and drinks choices, - cocktail was off - don't know if it was bartender ineptness or server confusion. Salad dressing was clumpy, filets not cooked as ordered, steak in the steak salad was tough and gristly, mac and cheese side had so much butter/cream it was rendered almost inedible - all too bad because the location is so terrific. On the positive side, the host/hostess staff was professional, friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, that's not enough to redeem the place, best to walk an extra block and dine somewhere else."

Classic Italian dishes with a contemporary flair have made Trattoria No.10 a Chicago favorite since 1989. Specialties on the daily menu include unique, homemade ravioli, rustic pastas, freshly prepared risotto, fresh fish selections and grilled filet of beef. The subdued elegance of the interior, with arched walkways, murals and original art provides an intimate atmosphere that is perfect for business lunches, pre-theater dining, romantic dinners or private parties.

"Good choice for dinner before a Goodman performance. Lovely mushroom, duck confit, and asparagus farfalle - it's been on the menu forever and remains a favorite even after many years. Prosciutto appetizer was a fresh, bright take, with a garnish of fig, cucumber & mint, making something special out of standard fare. Nicely made elderflower and gin cocktails too. As a bonus, there is a convenient combined valet parking rate of $14 for dinner and the show."

Quartino, an urban Italian restaurant and wine bar, is the creation of Hugo Ralli, Steve Lombardo (owners of Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House, LUXBAR) and Exec Chef / Partner John Coletta. Quartino combines the best of Italy’s osteria and enoteca to offer an authentic everyday Italian food and wine experience. “Where wine is cheaper than water” Throughout Europe, in bistro after osteria after enoteca, fresh local wines of high quality and unique characteristics are priced as a less expensive alternative to bottled water. Reservation requests for patio seating are not accepted. Patio seating is first come, first serve.

"We had a multi-generational Sunday lunch here - ages 13 through 78. Worked very well since there was such a variety of items to choose from on the menu. Our server was very friendly and patient, he rolled with the flow and was quite good-natured, he made our experience very pleasant. Another plus for us was that there were no stairs to navigate as we had a handicapped person with us. Easily accessible, tasty food, welcoming atmosphere - a definite thumbs up from us."

"Usually eat here when shopping in Oakbrook if the wait is not too long. It's consistently good. Macadamia halibut is excellent. NY Strip is very fine. House salad is a must."

"Convenient location across from the Schubert (BOA) Theater is all this place has going for it. And the Host/= & Hostess were excellent. Unfortunately, the server had no clue when we ordered a classic cocktail. When the cocktail arrived it was so not correctly made - even though the recipe is on the back of one of the bottles. Any decent bartender should have know better. Specials were overpriced and just ok. Mashed potatoes overly dense and dry. Steak salad had mediocre cut of meat and not cooked to order. Server wasn't rude, but not particularly genial either - just kind of there. Overall it wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't good or deserving of another visit."
