Greg's Reviews

Recently ranked the number one "Chinese Restaurant in Chicago" by Zagat, the exquisite Asian decor enhances the intimate atmosphere of this venue, which is unique to the city of Chicago. Seating capacity fits 75 guests with additional seating on the Terrace during temperate weather. Also features an intimate Private Dining Room for up to 30 guests. The Shanghai Terrace offers Eastern skyline views over Chicago, serving Chinese cuisine with an emphasis on Cantonese and Shanghainese specialties.

"We were looking for a nice lunch in the area and saw that Shanghai Terrace was highly rated. We were not disappointed! Great food, great service in a lovely setting. The shrimp and chive potstickers were our favorite"

Welcome to Nightwood. Jason Hammel and Amalea Tshilds, owners of Logan Square's Lula Cafe, invite you to join us in Pilsen -- at our open kitchen, on our patio, in our wine room, with the warmth and fragrance of applewood scenting the air.

We are a farm to table restaurant, featuring local produce and sustainably sourced meats and fish on an ever-changing, handwritten menu.

Spit roasted chicken, whole slow cooked pork, squash grilled over the open flame, a simple bowl of perfect fruit and sorbet. Hand in hand with the best farmers and craftspeople of the midwest, we cook with bold simplicity and care. We are looking forward to seeing you soon.

"My wife took me to Nightwood for my birthday. We loved it! The chef has a unique approach with a strong focus on fresh fruits and vegetables. Even the meat dishes seem to feature creative vegetable creations accompanied by excellent meat preparations versus the typical meat focus.
Nightwood is not a vegetarian restaurant (although a vegetarian would love it). The fishes and meats are excellent, but the chef is a wizard with fruits and veggies"

Niu B is the second location of the original Niu Japanese Fusion Lounge on 332 East Illinois Street in Chicago. Niu B features not only their signature maki rolls, fresh sushi nigiris and sashimi, but also Japanese Robata Grilled Skewers. Our full bar features specialty Japanese whiskey cocktails and house infusions, as well as Korean Soju that pairs perfectly with grilled skewers. The interior is sleek and modern with the inspiration of 1930"s Japanese Izakaya Bar in Tokyo.

"Niu replaced a sushi place in the same location that was quite good, but I think Niu is a step up. They still offer good sushi but also offer a broad Asian fusion menu with a nice variety of Japanese and Korean dishes"
