"I had heard that about a year ago, Raindancer had changed owners. Many of the reviews were mixed in the beginning but I noticed that currently the reviews seemed more positive. I booked a table for four on Thanksgiving afternoon.
I was greeted by two hosts on the way in and they enthusiastically welcomed us to the Raindancer and wished us Happy Thanksgiving. After seating us, the waitress appeared immediately and wished us well and explained our various choices. It was amazing , the whole time we were there, all the staff fell over us to please, and the service was excellent.
As for the food. I can only say that all the plates were empty at the end and it wasn't just because we were hungry. I thought the Chef was a bit naughty, only serving white meat on Thanksgiving day, but the ample amount of Turkey breast was very moist and delicious. My wife had a shrimp dish, normally an appetizer and that too was "over the moon" according to her reports. We were all extremely happy with our food and it was a great Thanksgiving feast.
Special Kudos to the host and Susan the waitress. She made us feel extremely comfortable throughout and the banter was fun.
If I had to change anything I would say that since this restaurant borders on fine dining, the tables should have cloths or at the very least, table settings. I know that laundering of cloths can be quite expensive but if you put butcher paper on top it might be helpful.
I entered the restaurant with mild reservations as the Raindancer has been established for over forty years and with new owners I wasn't sure what to expect. I can only say that I was extremely surprised and happy, as were my guests and we all admitted that we would not only go there again but we would now recommend the place to all of our friends. Thank you Raindancer for a lovely time.
