Carmine’s is a family style, value-driven restaurant concept with locations in NYC, NJ, Nassau Bahamas, and Washington DC. Restaurateur Artie Cutler created Carmine’s with one goal in mind: to open a restaurant that would serve every meal in the style of an Italian American wedding feast, featuring extra large portions of home-style antipasto, pastas, seafood and meat entrees served on extra large platters designed for sharing. Carmine’s is the perfect place to casually enjoy friends and family over great food and wine, with excellent service, the way it used to be at grandma’s house.

"First, the bad part... Ordered chicken parm on a bed of linguini. Chicken was excellent, but there was at least an inch of pasta water on the plate. Our server was not pleased at all that it happened, but we just don't send things back to a kitchen.
Now the good part... She sent the manager over and he saw the issue right away and agreed without question. He offered to have a new one made, but the chicken was ok to eat so we declined the offer. We finished the chicken and had our wine (by the way, the magnum of the house red is fine). When we got the check, the manager had comped the food and only charged for the wine.
This is the first time we've had an issue at Carmine's. Totally a class handling of the issue!!! Back in May again.

Café Berlin has been serving authentic German and traditional cuisine on Capitol Hill since 1985. It occupies the ground floor of three townhouses whose front yards serve as patio for outdoor dining. The interior features a small bar and two cozy dining rooms. The restaurant is located within a short walking distance of Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. It draws politicians, congressional staffer, and tourists as well a loyal following of neighborhood residents. The traditional dishes are authentically prepared with lighter touch by chefs with extensive experience in German cuisine. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant offer seasonally changing menus that feature fresh asparagus in the spring, salads and light fares in the summer, Bavarian dishes during Oktoberfest in the fall, and wild game in the winter. Desserts which are freshly made in-house include apple strudel, black forest cake, and luscious cream tortes. The bar offers a selection of imported German beers.

"It was wonderful to be greeted almost like family as we walked in. The food was cooked to perfection and the presentation was great. The service couldn't have been better or more timely. We go there EVERY time we're in D.C."
