"This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Walnut Creek, which has several great ones. Although there is a full bar as part of the property, the restaurant is elegant and quiet, as advertised, with a romantic atmosphere. We dine here several times a year, and the service is always exemplary. The food tends toward the traditional rather than the modern, which is great with me. WE both had the pan-seared California Sea Bass special this time and it was delicious. Service, under the direction of Tim, was efficient and ever-present, but not in the way. There is a nice sidewalk patio for dining on those warm Walnut Creek evenings."

"Do not come here expecting a steak house. The cuisine is latin-inspired and includes a number of seafood entrees and a few steaks. The restaurant is reflective of many recent openings with the emphasis is on the bar and tapas. Food quality for the most part was very good, but with a few misses, particularly the duck breast. Great small dishes included the bacon wrapped asparagus and the crispy brussel spouts. Service, overall, was good. The hostess was excellent but there were a few glitches with the server such as an order that was not placed. The cocktail list was excellent with a number of whisky-based creations. The ambiance is nice, but the restaurant is cramped and noisy. The good outweighed the bad and we will come back again."

Committed to Chef Joachim Splichal's impeccable food and quality service, Café at the Opera is available for pre-theatre dining. Located in the lower lounge of the Opera House (Lower level), the Cafe serves an elegant hot buffet beginning two hours before every performance. Lighter fare is also served before performances and during intermissions at Patina's Café Express and Dress Circle Café. Please note that reservations can be made for Performance Ticket Holders only.

"That one could fine dining in a great setting so close to a SF Ballet or Opera performance. It is in the basement of the War Memorial Opera House, a stately and marvelous building. Only dinner is served, a buffet featuring prime rib, chicken, and fish as entrees. There are a variety of salads with many vegetarian options. Desserts are separate. Keep in mind that this is fine dining and prices are commensurate, but well worth it. Also, reservations and entrance is open only to ticket holders for that evening’s performance. Service was perfect led by Luis. He, and they were efficient, competent, and very friendly. The chef and sous chefs would also stop by and chat. It certainly beats hunting for a restaurant nearby and making two stops."

Located in the heart of Jack London Square, Scott's Seafood restaurant has been the standard for fresh seafood in the Bay Area since 1976. With an incredible view of San Francisco and the Oakland waterfront, Scott's has been named the "Best Seafood Restaurant" in Oakland for a good reason. Scott's Famous Cioppino, Seafood Saute', Alaskan Halibut, New England Clam Bake Stew and our award winning Clam Chowder are some of the classic favorites. Piano bar every night with Maxine Glover playing Wednesday through Saturday. Also performing Sunday through Tuesday the incredible John Turk. The Sunday Jazz Brunch Buffet features "Just the Three of us" Jazz group each Sunday. Also, window and patio seating are on a first come first serve basis.<br />If you are in need of private dinning, please contact our catering services. Scott's offers private rooms for small intimate groups or larger groups up to 400 guests. We also do off-site catering. See you at Scott's!

"We have dined here several times and are always happy with the experience. Scott's is a large and comfortable, but can get very busy. There is an outside patio. The cuisine is upscale and a bit pricy. The menu changes frequently and always includes great seafood dishes. Our entrees included Dungeness crab encrusted swordfish, cedar planked orange and bourbon salmon (great Jack Daniels glaze). Our excellent appetizers included a warm artichoke and crab gratin (Yum!). Desserts are great including Pauline’s Rumcake. There is a full bar and nice wine list. Service is good, but can be a little slow when the restaurant is slammed. Complimentary Valet parking in adjacent parking garage is a big deal in parking-unfriendly Walnut Creek."

Americano is designed to encourage a communal dining and imbibing experience. We suggest starting with a few bites for the table alongside some selections from our crafted cocktail menu or distinctive wine list. From there our menu offers the opportunity to taste a bit of everything or to enjoy a traditional full entree. Our question to you is, "How would you like to dine?"<br /><br />Please note that a limited menu will be provided for parties of 12 or larger. To book a private space or to make a reservation for a large party, please email LMadden@communehotels.com.

"We dined here on Christmas and thus ordered from a special prix fixe 3 course holiday menu with choices within each course. All selections were excellent. Our entrees included Liberty duck breast, butter braised black cod, and the vegetable medley. Appetizers consisted of Tuscan kale soup and gnocchi with braised oxtail. All dishes were tasty and satisfying. Desserts were sticky toffee pudding and cara-cara granite. There also is an excellent cocktail list. N Both the décor and the service were was gracious and refined. The dining rooms are very comfortable, but although the restaurant is on the Embarcadero, not all rooms have water views."

At Farallon, Chef Mark Franz serves coastal cuisine with French influence. The menu changes daily depending on what's fresh. Expect exciting combinations and show-stopping execution.

"Farallon describes its menu as coastal cuisine, meaning mostly freshly caught fish and other fresh seafood. Our entrees were the Maryland striped bass and the Artic Char. Both were excellent and portions were quite sufficient. The shellfish bisque was excellent, as well. Other menu choices included Sashimi, Dungeness Crab, calamari, and trout. There were also caviar and oyster options. Our server, Nate, was friendly, efficient, accommodating, resourceful, made us feel special and had excellent recommendations. He and the sommelier, Adam, devised a nice wine pairing for my meal including 4 different half glasses The ambiance is romantic and gives an impression of dining underwater. The restaurant was full and thus somewhat noisy."
