X2O Xaviars on the Hudson is Peter X Kelly’s latest addition to the Xaviars Restaurant Group. It sits in the water on the only turn of the century Victorian pier still in use on the Hudson River. X2O’s Main Dining Salon's 25 foot vaulted ceiling and 3 walls of glass frame offers views of the George Washington and Tappan Zee Bridges, as well as sunsets over the Palisades. Guests encounter dishes incorporating classic French technique with Italian and Spanish influences, and Asian embellishments which create a wholly original cuisine unique to the Hudson Valley. The Dylan Lounge is a vibrant, up-tempo space with a sophisticated and playful bent that offers guests more dining options. Guests are invited to sample a variety of small plates and sushi, while dining at the Communal Table, sushi bar, or at traditional banquette and table seating.

"What a fabulous setting and the food was all very good, but short of excellent. We went during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. We were seated upstairs, which feels more like a hotel banquet room than a fine dining establishment. Service was not 5 stars but was competent. The menu offerings weren't directly from the regular menu, but were well prepared and nicely presented -- all were full portions and it didn't feel like a second rate menu."

"The food, the atmosphere, the decor could not have been more engaging. This restaurant is a honey" -M.H. Reed, NY Times - "Red Hat has the energy of a big-city brasserie, the sparkle of an enduring seaside spot and the feel of a party that no guest wants to leave" -Steve Reddicliffe, NY Times
The two level, French bistro-inspired eatery is housed in a hundred -year -old factory building that has been transformed to feature an uninterrupted, 180 degree view of the river from the main and loft dining levels. Guests will enjoy the seasonal, Hudson Valley ingredients, as well as French bistro classics. As MH Reed observed in her NY Times review “Red Hat is so close to the river in Irvington that when the wind is up and the waves slap the shore, their icy spray covers the riverside path to the restaurant.”
"This was a great find. We went for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and the offerings were extensive, right off of the regular menu. What a terrific value. The food was excellent -- the Rillets was a great appetizer, a generous portion and well prepared and presented. The skirt steak, a bistro mainstay, was among the best I've had. Excellent seasoning and a very large portion -- with terrific, crispy fries and tasty Brussels sprouts. The gluten free lemon cake was far and away the best such desert I've had. All around a place to go back to."

"Well worth a visit. What stands out above all is the terrific service of everyone in the restaurant. From the parking valets (how great was that on a cold rainy night -- and it's FREE), to the coat check, reception and manager, busboys and waiters every single person was warm, friendly but professional and never cloying. They were genuinely nice and helpful and liked working there. But it's wasnt a cover, the food was really good too. The duck wrap and chorizo and figs appetizers were stand outs. All of the meats were beautifully prepared-- moist, tender and cooked as requested. The halibut special with a citrus burblanc was delicious. Portions were generous. Desserts were good too a tres leches cake was sweet and flavorful and the tarttufo filled with creamy ice cream and had a quality chocolate shell. All around a good find."

Oldwick is in the heart of the Hunterdon County horse country, and the Tewksbury Inn is at the center of this 18th-century historic district. The Inn is a former stagecoach stop where the 21st-century traveler can enjoy the traditional friendly tavern atmosphere with fine food that reflects wide ranging influences. In 2008 the Tewksbury Inn began opening on Mondays for the first time and those who join us have been in for a real treat: Our entire wine list at half price. Our exquisite food deserves pairing with an equally great wine and at this value, we think you will agree.
