"Continues tot serve great food at high-end shore prices. And it is worth it. The much over served beet salad - was great. The duck breast ( ordered by 3 in our group) was rich and flavorful ( just add a few more brussel sprouts - please). Wild rockfish was simply prepared and tasty.
Wine list is kind of pricey but you can choose some nice whites for under $40.
The best place in town for a special evening"

Inviting, affordable and stylish, Waterstreet Cafe and Bar is located in the historic American Legion Building, conveniently situated across from Heritage Park and Capitol Lake in downtown Olympia.

Our food is beautifully presented, using the highest quality ingredients to create delicious, unique dishes. Our menu is generous and diverse, with something for everyone. We offer gracious service in a comfortable setting. We are one of the few restaurants between Seattle and Portland that has been awarded the prestigious Wine Spectator Award. We also offer expertly crafted, classic & seasonal cocktails and a great selection of micro brews on tap.

In 1940 Franklin E. Barmore Sr. purchased the land where the current Shrimp Box now sits to become a commercial fishing dock. The Barmore Family consisting of Frank Sr., Edith, and Frank Jr., ran the dock and the adjoining retail fish market, selling and transporting fish along the Atlantic Coast.

In 1953, with Frank Jr. and Mom Barmore (now a widow) decided to open a small take-out seafood stand to keep her occupied. After several years, the stand was so successful it moved to the retail fish store (the current lobby and part of the kitchen) and expanded it's seating to 36 from the four original counter stools.

Frank Barmore died in 1982, leaving the restaurant to his wife and daughters.
In the end of the 1999 season, the Shrimp Box ownership was transferred to Nick Gyftakis and George Pappas. Nick and George have been in business together since the 1970's. With their combined restaurant history, your dining experience is sure to be memorable.

"On a sunny Sunday afternoon, there isn't a better spot at the Jersey shore for a meal.
The food isn't " gourmet" but the fish is fresh, well prepared and plentiful
Our server was friendly and helpful
Nice wines too.

"It's fine but nothing special. You are always very aware that it is a restaurant off a hotel lobby.
The dishes themselves were very good - crab cakes with mostly jumbo lump crab, nicely prepared rockfish. Good sized portions.
Service was friendly, attentive, not intrusive.
Still, there are better places in the area - if you are heading over to Kennedy Center.
If you are staying at the hotel and the weather is terrible - you're in luck - eat here."
