Baci Ristorante offers diners a hint of old world Italian charm, with plush booths, white tablecloths, and gracious servers clad in tuxedos. While the decor is subtly modern, the menu is classic, celebrating Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. Specialties include classic pasta dishes, veal, and fresh seafood, with especially tempting daily specials offered by Executive Chef Domenico Alioto. In addition to the cuisine, the restaurant's charming and welcoming features--include an extensive wine list, elegant patio setting, and romantic main dining room--have made Baci a consistent favorite among locals for over 30 years.

"Baci never fails to deliver a first-class dining experience. Our party of four enjoyed everything from start to finish and the veal chops came in for particular praise. I am from the Philadelphia area and we have no lack of great Italian restaurants there. I would place Baci alongside the best of them! Grazie molto!"

We opened this restaurant in 1986 for Joe to showcase his culinary talents and to have a place for our customers to come to have a fine meal and always feel &quot;at home.&quot; We carefully select our staff so that they become a part of our family and then in turn, you do too! <br /><br />After spending much time in our restaurants, our son Joey decided that he, too, wanted to become a part of them. We feel so confident in his skills that we have now turned the management of Busalacchi&#39;s over to him. <br /><br />Please enjoy your time with us, and if there is anything at all that we can do for you please do not hesitate to ask. We want you to have a memorable dining experience at Busalacchi&#39;s.

"For the first time ever, we enjoyed a Valentine's Day dinner outdoors. Of course, snowbirds like us can only do that when away from home, like visiting in San Diego! Busalacchii's had a great value pre-fixe offering for dinner and we thought it was terrific. Our only quibble was that service was a bit slow, but understandable on a holiday."

"Our meal at George's was excellent. We had the 4-course tasting menu for $75 and I elected to have the optional wine pairing. Everything was beautifully-presented and delicious. Particularly noteworthy were the sardine, foie gras and octopus appetizers and the pork entree. The wines were well chosen and enhanced each dish. A very nice experience. The only negative was the skimpy glass of wine that was given to my wife who did not want the wine pairing."

Just minutes from downtown San Diego, the convention center, and Mission Valley. The Prado at Balboa Park is located in one of the parks most beautiful buildings. Under chef Jonathon Hale's creative direction the Prado Restaurant has won honors as San Diego's Best New Restaurant, has been named one of America's top 10 restaurants by Gourmet Magazine, received the coveted "four star" award by the California Restaurant writers association. Continental cuisine paired with truly excellent service, unique ambiance, hand crafted decor and outdoor/indoor dining year round are just some of the reason's why we've won "most romantic" and "best special occasion" restaurant.

"We ate at the Prado before an Old Globe Theater performance and enjoyed it very much. The pre-fixe $39 menu for 2 is a tremendous value and the food was plentiful and delicious. No doubt, we will return."

"We are snowbirds who visit San Diego in Feb. and March and we always include Pacifica Del Mar in our dining. We had a nice experience again this year including a great table and excellent service from Paul, our waiter. The baked oysters are about as good as you can get and although mine were small in size, the preparation was wonderful. Our entrees were the Mahi mahi and the sea scallops and both were delicious. We appreciate the generous pours when we order wine by the glass and the "tablet" wine list is not only state-of-the-art, but informative as well. Keep up the good work!"

In our signature restaurant, A.R. Valentien, Chef Jeff Jackson showcases, fresh market driven seafood, meats, produce and dairy products.<br />The menu is determined and influenced by what is available at any given time during the various seasons. Certain farms have been commissioned to produce items specific to the Lodge. Local small fish and seafood companies who deal in regional Southern California and Baja "catches" are utilized, as well as other west coast purveyors.<br />Out of respect for the quality of the foodstuffs available, the cooking is somewhat restrained in order to take advantage of the natural flavors and textures of the ingredients.<br />Because of this more "hands off" approach and the use of simple seasonings, various olive oils, and intense broths and juices as flavoring mediums, the dishes retain their nutritional integrity as well.

"This was our first visit to A.R. Valentien and we enjoyed it very much. Everyone was friendly, the food was delicious and we will definitely go back. The restaurant has a comfortable, cozy feel and a great location overlooking Torrey Pines. We had the duck and pistachio pate as an appetizer and our entrees were scallops and duck breast / duck leg confit. All were excellent. Complimentary valet parking is an added plus."

"Four of us had a great late dinner at Sbicca on a half-price bottle of wine night. We all enjoyed our dinners, but especially so with the person who ordered the pork rib chop. This signature diish looked like about 1/3 of the entire pig and was beyond delicious to boot. Needless to say, a chunk went home for another meal. Wonderful time had by all."

"We went to Croce's new location in the Banker's Hill area and liked it very much. We had an early dinner on their outdoor patio so that we could get downtown for a concert. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. My wife is not a big eater, so she enjoyed the half-portion Crispy Skin Duck, while I had 3 really tasty meatballs over linguini. A short chat with Ingrid, the owner, whom I had met many years ago when Jim Croce was alive, topped everything off. Very nice indeed."

"We come to La Jolla in February and March and, each year, Tapenade is a "must" for us. Great food and service and understated elegance are hallmarks each time. The Tournedos and veal Osso Bucco Milanaise were excellent and the fine charcuterie plate to start was varied and nicely-presented. Always a great meal here."
