The Cedar Hollow Inn has been a local favorite for over 12 years. The building, which was built in the mid 1800's, lends an old-fashioned charm to an unpretentious atmosphere.

Chef Stephen Guiseppe of the Culinary Institute of America adds personal flair and imagination to a delectable menu of American Continental dishes. The daily Chef's Specials are creative and unpredictable, energetically inspired an hour or so before the menu is finalized.

Indulge yourself, family and friends to a casual fine dining experience in any of the three dining rooms, including an enclosed sun porch and a large bar area. Tucked away in the middle of everywhere, the Cedar Hollow offers an experience that keeps you coming back.

"We had a pleasant dinner on the enclosed porch overlooking a lovely flower bed. My "drunken" clams and mussels were nicely spicy and served with tasty corn bread. Our entrees were a nicely-cooked salmon filet over mushroom risotto and a delicious piece of bronzino. Cedar Hollow also prepares a great Margarita!"

Catherine"s Restaurant is a charming BYOB nestled in the heart of Chester County's horse country. An upscale casual destination restaurant, located in the historic (c. 1851) Unionville General Store, Catherine's is 'dining at it's BEST.' (Philadelphia Inquirer) Chef Kevin McMunn's "Wild Mushroom & Lump Crab Soup is EXQUISITE." - Craig Laban. Catherine's is one of the Delaware Valley's top BYOB's and has earned many accolades over the past decade. They are rated EXCELLENT by Zagat. Chef Kevin McMunn and his partner & wife Marybeth Brown are an exceptional team that pay homage to Brown's grandmother, Catherine, with their warm and welcoming hospitality and unbelievably delicious food! The gorgeous dining room is lit entirely by candles - over 125 - which adds to the special touch of mini flashlights which come with every menu. Catherine's has recently added Lunch and weekend Brunch to their dining hours. The Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are the perfect way to end the weekend!

"Great meal on the patio on a beautiful Saturday evening. Nice salads followed by excellent scallops over pappardelle noodles made for a fine meal. Patio needs more light as it gets dark."

"Had a fine Italian meal with great service outside on their sidewalk "patio". Food is always very good with plenty of it and the complimentary snifter of Limoncello at the end is always welcome. Consistently very good."

Once called "the most genteel tavern in America" by John Adams and the first unofficial "White House," Chef Walter Staib's City Tavern has boasted the finest celebrations since 1773. With over 230 years of hospitality, City Tavern has been the centerpiece of affairs now immortalized in history. An evening at City Tavern is certain to be remembered. Just imagine sampling specialties, such as pepperpot soup, colonial turkey pot pie, roast duckling, Thomas Jefferson's sweet potato biscuits paired with ales the ales of the revolution made from George Washington & Benjamin Franklin's recipes -- all served by costumed wait staff.

Watch an episode of A Taste of History on PBS, our Chef Proprietor Walter Staib will give you glimpse of what we do here at City Tavern.

"Six of us dined following an afternoon of historic district touring and City Tavern provided an appropriate finishing touch to our day. All the dining choices were great, our server and the kitchen easily accommodated one member of the party with a specific food allergy, and we all left full and happy, surrounded by history. Hard to imagine a better way to finish our day."

"We had another very pleasant evening at Catherine's, eating outdoors on a balmy July evening. The menu doesn't change much here, so the grouper special for the evening was a most welcome addition that my wife thoroughly enjoyed. My Chinese 5 spice pork was succulent and juicy, among the best pork preparations that I have ever had. Starters were the mushroom-crab bisque, which is in a class by itself, and a wonderful summer salad with a soy ginger dressing. Delightful"

"Ate outdoors on a lovely Summer Thursday in West Chester, when Gay Street was blocked to traffic and we could watch the passing parade. Very cool, especially with an excellent Margarita! Everything was delicious: grilled calamari, lamb pappardelle bolognese, and veal with shrimp. Julia's service was great. Could hear enough of the "Great American Song Book" music, even with the bustle on the street, to enjoy it. Nice evening."

The Gables at Chadds Ford, established in 1997, is situated in the heart of the historic Brandywine Valley. Located in a converted 1800's dairy barn, the setting is simple yet elegant. The menu offers a contemporary twist on traditional American cuisine, utilizing French influences. The Gables at Chadds Ford combines an upbeat and comfortable ambiance with a creative and well executed menu. The result is one you will want to keep a secret,
but you will not be able to resist sharing with a friend.

"We hadn't been to The Gables in awhile, but had a lovely meal on a very pleasant Saturday evening on their outdoor patio. Our scallops and blackened salmon entrees were nicely cooked, generous portions that we savored with a glass of wine. The beet caprese salad, however, with a mix of sliced beets and tomatoes, did not work well. In my opinion, it should be either or - standard caprese or beets with the mozarella, but not both together. Service was friendly and prompt."
