This second restaurant of Olivier Desaintmartin, ZINC is no less than a replica of a “le Marais” style bar restaurant, artists most preferred section of Paris. Le Marais is also the oldest part of the French capital.

Desaintmartin bought a 1919 zinc bar from a Parisian bar, refinished it, and shipped it to this quaint 40 seats bar/restaurant.

Acclaimed for its food, romance and its specialty drinks, Zinc becomes a hang out for locals, a meeting place. You can share a charcuterie or a fromage plate with a glass of Chinon, or sit at the bar sipping a French aperitif waiting for your party, or enjoy some oysters with a Muscadet.

The bistro menu is the same for brunch and dinner so at any time of the day you may choose to order eggs Benedict or steak frites or even just an apple tart with a “coupe “ of Blanquette de Limoux (sparkling wine).

"We enjoyed our second fine authentic French meal at Zinc in a small bistro-like atmosphere before a Philadelphia Orchestra concert. The Escargot appetizer with onions was very tasty- -almost like a stew. My foie de veau was 2 large, perfectly-prepared pieces of liver and my wife's lotte fume was wonderful. Our glasses of wine were generous pours and service was friendly and prompt. Zinc is a keeper!"

"We celebrated my wife's birthday with an exquisite dinner at Lacroix, always one of the premier restaurants in the area, and the entire East Coast for that matter. We had the 4 course menu with wine pairings to match and each was wonderful in it's own way. Of particular note were the four gras torchon, the Nantucket Bay scallop and a lovely turbot. Service was impeccable. Little touches like the amuse bouche, petits-fours & small brioche to enjoy at home added to the overall experience. Top - notch in every way."

"Our second visit to Spence 312 was as good as the first. This time we dined on a busy Friday evening and enjoyed a fine meal. Lovely calamari with a piquant dipping sauce was a fine starter and our scallops and crab cake entrees were equally as good. Dan's service was friendly and efficient. Despite the place being busy, we were in and out in under 1 1/2 hours without feeling rushed. Nice job all around."

Catherine"s Restaurant is a charming BYOB nestled in the heart of Chester County's horse country. An upscale casual destination restaurant, located in the historic (c.1851) Unionville General Store, Catherine's is 'dining at it's BEST.' (Philadelphia Inquirer) Chef Kevin McMunn's "Wild Mushroom & Lump Crab Soup is EXQUISITE." Craig Laban. Catherine's is one of the Delaware Valley's top BYOB's & has earned many accolades since opening in West Chester in 1999! Catherine's is continually rated EXCELLENT by Zagat. Chef Kevin McMunn and his partner & wife Marybeth Brown are an exceptional team that pay homage to Brown's grandmother, Catherine, with their warm and welcoming hospitality and unbelievably delicious food! The gorgeous dining room is lit entirely by candles - over 125 - which adds to the special touch of mini flashlights which come with every menu. Enjoy Lunch and weekend Brunch on the patio. The Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are the perfect way to end the weekend!
"To-die-for mushroom bisque with crab, tasty roasted goat cheese salad, lovely scallops, short ribs with agnolotti comfort food, and delicious key lime pie, all in beautiful, downtown Unionville! Who needs anything more on a November night that was more like mid-January?"

"We were happy for two reasons when the space formerly occupied by Avalon re-opened as Spence 312. First, the space is great for a restaurant with a wonderful secluded patio out back that we have loved through all the Avalon years. Second, having Andrew Patten back is a welcome turn; we liked his cooking at the old Spence Cafe and at Butterfish.
Our first meal was great and we hope it is a harbinger of things to come. We enjoyed an appetizer of a wonderful dessert-like baked goat cheese with apples, blackberries and honey. Butternut squash soup was also wonderful. Our entrees of maple pork chop and the butternut squash ravioli was also very tasty. Colleen Cottrell and her staff provided fine service. A great start. We look forward to our next visit."

"My wife and I had another fine meal at Avalon on a quiet Tuesday evening. I loved my mussels as an appetizer. I don't often order chicken when we dine out, but I sure am glad I had the Chicken Calabrese, autumn comfort food with a tang. My wife's short ribs were fall-off-the bone tender. Kudos to Kris and his staff: Alejandra"s service was great, as usual, and Danielle mixed-up a great Margarita."

"We had a nice dinner, albeit with servers obviously rushing around on a busy Wednesday evening. The butternut squash bisque was thick and tasty, among the best we've had. My wife's roasted goat cheese salad was delicious as her entree. My grouper with pistachio crust was nicely presented, but a bit over cooked for my taste."

"Our first visit to Townsend was terrific. The velvety pumpkin lobster bisque was full of small chunks of lobster and the Foie Gras Mousse was incredibly decadent. My wife's halibut was delicately flavorful while my lamb en cocotte (braised shoulder in a small crock with fruits with the succulent loin served adjacent to it on the plate) would have been a hit in Paris! A wonderful light Pavlova completed a memorable meal. The service provided by Caitlynn was superb, among the best we have ever had. Townsend is not convenient to us, but we will definitely be returning."

The stunning restaurant, which is first of its kind in Philadelphia, will transport guests to the Greek Islands with an atmosphere reminiscent of an inviting Mediterranean home & a menu of authentic specialties, simply prepared, that represent the best of Greek cuisine. The restaurant specializes in whole grilled fish which are flown in from the Greek Islands, the shores of Morocco, Tunisia, & Portugal. Guests are able to choose from Estia’s expansive display & watch chefs cook their fish to perfection over a charcoal grill in the sparkling open kitchen.

"Fine Greek food, nice environment and great service combine to make for a lovely dinner. Four of us enjoyed the bargain pre-theater menu and easily got to the Kimmel Center in plenty of time for the performance. Tough combination to beat in Center City."

"We like Bliss for pre-theater or orchestra. The food is very good, service is oriented to curtain times, and the location is terrific. This past visit, we were seated in the quiet upstairs area and we had the short ribs and halibut. Both were delicious. Just a nice spot."
