Alexandria's own T.J. Stone's celebrates modern American cuisine. Enjoy casual dining in the comforts of our cozy restaurant and bar with wine, beer and spirits from around the country & world.

"Nice North Old Town Alexandria location with pretty cool bar & great beer list. Large fireplace in dining area really added to the ambience. I had the half-rack of ribs with baked beans & sweet potato fries. Ribs were good but the sides were fair at best. Service left a bit to be desired. I requested lemon with my water, waitress said she'd bring it right away, but I eventually went to the bar to get it myself. While I was disappointed with the service, I'll probably give T.J. Stones another chance to redeem themselves."

Zengo, which translates to "give 'n take", merges flavors of Chef Richard Sandoval's heritage with his passion for Asian cuisine. This melding of flavors and cultures results in intriguing shareable dishes.

"What a great location - steps off the Chinatown metro. My friend ordered fried calamari salad (big enough for a main dish) & I had the tuna avocado salad. Both were splendid, but set a high bar for the main dish which unfortunately Zengo did not live up to. Friend had the chipotle miso glazed black cod & I the tagalog churrasco steak. Both were good but did not achieve the expectation established by the salads. Zengo's redeemed themselves with desert which was an avocado gelatin topped with chocolate cookie crumbs & chunks of pan-fried apples. One drawback to the service is that our apps & main dishes arrived at different times, so we had to wait to begin our meals until both were on the table. This place is very noisy, so be prepared."
