Tanta is dedicated to sharing the flavors and culture of Peru with Chicago, serving authentic Peruvian dishes and beverages in an approachable, fun and casual downtown setting. We provide service that is casual yet knowledgeable, genuine and attentive, utilizing locally sourced products and vendors that are sensitive to sustainable farming and fishing.

Tanta has two Chef’s Tables that each seat up to 8 people. These tables are located in our main dining room in between our open kitchen and ceviche bar which allows you and your guests to experience our chefs creating Peruvian cuisine while you dine.

The menu, created by Acurio and Tanta Chicago Chef Jesus Delgado, takes diners on a voyage through Peru via its food. From the Pacific Ocean, through the Andes, to the desert, to the Amazon, Tanta celebrates the diverse landscape and ethnicities that make up Peru’s culture.

"The menu sort of overwhelms you. Which ones to try? What else to order? We have to come back! I don't appreciate fluke, so I didn't love the ceviche, but try the causitas - -wonderful tastes on top of whipped potatoes. Wish we could have eaten more so we could have tried more. We will be back! So much fun!"

South Water Kitchen, adjacent to Chicago's hip Hotel Monaco, is a neighborhood restaurant offering American Home cooking. As a tribute to the kitchen table, South Water Kitchen remembers the time when the kitchen was the center of the home and the family meal was the most important time of the day.

"I was at SWK several months ago and had a great experience so came back when the occasion arose. Still loved the ambience and friend and I each had delicious meals, but this time I realized that the menu is rather limited. Not a lot of choices. Maybe it's because we are in this horrendous winter and traffic is down. Fortunately, what they do they do very well, with great service."

Lincoln Park's neighborhood gem! A modern yet cozy bistro, Gemini Bistro features approachable, contemporary American cuisine with French and Mediterranean touches. Chef Jason Paskewitz and partner Ryan O'Donnell are at the helm of this acclaimed neighborhood restaurant, named one of Chicago Magazine's "Best New Restaurants" of 2009, awarded 3 Stars from Chicago Tribune food critic Phil Vettel, and most recently the recipient of the coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction. Located in a classic flatiron building built in 1919, the surroundings offer a stylish, relaxing environment with dark hardwood floors, tweed and leather booths, oversized drum lighting and turn-of-the-century reproduction Edison bulbs. The white marble bar is the perfect place to relax and sip a signature cocktail or glass of wine. Please also visit our sister restaurant, Rustic House, at 1967 N. Halsted St.
"We are old and we wanted a place for an early dinner on NYE and we chose Gemini purely for its proximity to the theater.
The food was excellent! The lamb melted in your mouth. Service was attentive and efficient. It was so early in the evening that every other table had at least one cute child, so obviously a family friendly place.
It turned out to be the perfect place. Hope to go back at a normal time and try the regular menu."
