La Valencia’s signature “Great Room” restaurant reminiscent of a villa overlooking the Mediterranean Sea - this tile frescoed dining room with a grand fireplace is flanked by French doors to a sunny garden patio and canopied trellis arbor and by expansive windows framing the coastline and surf of the Pacific Ocean and Scripps Park. With its 7th floor terrace, adjacent to La V’s signature La Sala Lounge, The MED features al fresco ocean dining overlooking La V’s colorful gardens, sparkling pool and scenic coastline.<br /><br />New American cuisine takes prized inspiration from the melting pot of American culture and diversity. Executive Chef Daniel Barron uses inspiring preparations and techniques to prepare the fresh and abundant bounty found in California’s farms rich with sustainable and organic providers. The seasonal fare is a captivating collection of familiar and unfamiliar dishes with unexpected ingredients served against the backdrop of the California coastline.

Jake’s Del Mar brings new American cooking to the edge – to the water’s edge that is. Located right on the beach in Del Mar Chef Duvinh Ta uses fresh, seasonal products as the inspiration for updating classic preparations of fresh fish, shellfish and premium meats. The lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch menus showcase clean, eclectic flavors and local, sustainable products that are complemented by Jake’s jaw dropping location on the sand. The nightly Chef’s Special is a seasonal creation that features the best seafood, meats and produce available and through the Legacy of Aloha program, Jake’s donates a portion the proceeds from the Chef’s Special to the San Diego Food Bank.

"Beautiful view overlooking the lake. My filet ordered medium rare was well done, but with the wonderful sauces and the good meat, still delicious. Wait staff could use more training on service procedures: removed fork and knife used for salad and placed on bread and butter plate rather than giving fresh utensils for the entree, served my husband first, etc."
