Brought to you by Award Winning Chef Michael Chiarello and located at Pier 5 on the the bustling San Francisco Waterfront, Coqueta is inspired by the cuisines of Spain. Chef Chiarello feels that Spain"s signature ‘small plates’ coupled with the social vibrancy of their dining scene is the perfect combination for San Francisco, which has its own deep-rooted history with the country. Focusing on regional dishes from Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country and beyond, the menu will feature Chiarello's interpretation of traditional Spanish cuisine and, as has always been his tradition, will highlight the bounty of fresh, local ingredients from land and sea.

"The small plates we ordered were all delicious, including dessert. The service was excellent, starting with the reservation person who assured me that we could, per my request, have an individual table rather than a communal table, as I was meeting old friends for conversation. The servers were also helpful and the right degree of friendly."

The Cavalier is an all-day London-inspired brasserie, located in the new Hotel Zetta.

This is the third property for restaurateurs Anna Weinberg, James Nicholas & Chef Jennifer Puccio; the team behind Marlowe and Park Tavern. The team has collaborated with award winning San Francisco designer Ken Fulk, who has revamped the interior in deep leather banquettes, polished brass, zinc and white marble, giving it a posh and sultry feel.

"I like almost all things British, so I looked forward to dining at Cavalier. The appetizers -- the Cavalier salad and the special chips with drippings -- were excellent. Our main courses -- the fish and chips, and the mushroom pie -- were also pretty good. The two desserts were, however, a disappointment. I love trifle and was excited to have their version with pears , but it was cold and soggy and the consistency was strange. My friend had another dessert -- I can't even remember exactly what it was -- but she was also disappointed. The service was attentive and good. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and welcoming. So overall -- despite the disappointing dessert -- we enjoyed the dinner at Cavalier. I am not sure, though, that I would go out of my way to go there again."
